Heather and Justin first met in 2002 at Shelbyville Central High School. Heather was a freshman, and Justin was a sophmore, they had Spanish 1 together. Although Justin did have a crush on Heather when they met, he never attempted to date Heather.

Over the years since high school, Justin and Heather have crossed each other paths since living in a small town. They became friends again in Oct. of 2016 and came close to going on a date together, but due to other events happening, they decided to wait.

After more years passing, Justin and Heather still saw each other in passing, but Justin eventually reached out to Heather to ask her out. Heather says she knew she was going to marry Justin the moment they started texting again.
