Our Wedding

Justin &amp; McKenzie met online on August 11, 2023—It all started with a pickup line only Justin could pull off: “You like bagels? Cause you seem like bae goals!” (This should have been a red flag, but McKenzie let it slide since the rest of Justin’s initial message was pretty genuine.) We built an initial connection through long conversations and shared humor before we ever met in person. Once we did plan our first date, McKenzie showed up to the wrong place—but that didn’t stop our happy hour plans from turning into a 5 hour dinner date filled with effortless conversation and a spark neither of us expected. By the end of that first week, we both knew something real was happening. By the one-month mark, we knew we wanted a future together. Our journey hasn’t been simple, but it’s been worth every step. Early on, we walked through some heavy life seasons. We even went through a six-month breakup and both dated other people, yet somehow stayed in each other’s orbit. When we found our way back to one another in August 2024, we knew it was all or nothing for us. In the year that followed, everything changed. Justin became convicted in his faith in June of 2024, and McKenzie began attending church with him shortly afterwards. What started as curiosity became a transformative, shared journey of surrendering to God and letting our priorities, hearts, and daily lives be reshaped. Choosing Jesus changed our relationship—and in many ways, it changed us. We discovered grace, honesty, and integrity in new ways. We found healing. We finally grew into people who could love each other— and others— well. Today, our life together is FULL—of chasing Katherine, church involvement, date nights, cooking at home, the occasional nerdy hobby (ask us about our D&amp;D era), and balancing life between two homes an hour apart. We love spending time with our families, enjoying music festivals, and dream of traveling more together. On July 17, 2025, Justin proposed. During a game of pretend with Katherine, Justin dramatically dove out of our blanket fort to the floor. He returned on one knee, holding the ring he and Katherine had secretly picked up together 2 weeks prior. McKenzie had only asked for a private, surprising proposal—Justin nailed both. We’re getting married after choosing a lifestyle of intention &amp; faith together since November 2024. So, we’ll admit we’re looking forward to finally getting to enjoy ALL the fun perks of married life. Right underneath that comes combining our households, building a home full of love, and continuing to grow as partners and parents with Katherine right in the middle of it all. We are goofy, imperfect, deeply committed, and the exact same flavor of weird. We challenge each other, support one another, and bring out parts of each other we never felt safe enough to share before. Our relationship has been shaped by grace and redemption, and we’re grateful for every chapter that led us here. We can’t wait to begin our next chapter as husband and wife.

Attire: Winter Semi-Formal

We've hired professional wedding photographers and videographers to document our special day, and have invested a lot into looking our best for this once in a lifetime occasion. We did not want to go full "black tie", but hope guests will endeavor to look their best. Our semi-formal attire request means we would like guests to arrive polished and photo-ready, (winter season appropriate), but still comfortable enough to be able to relax and enjoy the festivities!

OPTIONAL - Feel free to dress in our wedding colors!

If guests desire to coordinate with our wedding colors for photos, our palette features cool wintery greens such as sage, eucalyptus, and matcha, with gold as our accent color. This is completely optional. We do not expect anyone to buy a new outfit just to match our palette. It’s simply there for guests who want to join the aesthetic.

Relatives of the Bride & Groom:

We are taking advantage of having everyone gathered for our special day to capture some beautiful posed photos of our newly joined families. We have no idea what a Tennessee January will bring us, but there is significant potential for COLD weather, possibly even snow! As such, we ask that you consider your outerwear selection, because you may prefer to wear your jacket for outdoor photos. Ideally, neutral-colored or dark-colored overcoats, pea coats, long coats, or tailored jackets. Shawls/wraps are a great option for women. Please avoid bulky ski jackets in photos (but bring them if it’s truly freezing).

We understand several guests will be traveling an hour or more to celebrate with us. If you wish to stay the night in Murfreesboro, there are MANY hotel options in the immediate vicinity of our reception venue.
