Our Story

Our story started back in 2015 at Sheridan College. Justin was in his third year of Chemical engineering and Amanda was a first-year kinesiology student, both playing for Sheridan’s volleyball teams. After initially meeting at a post-game afterparty at Justin’s college house, we started spending more time together out in group settings. During this time Justin found out Amanda was struggling through first year biomechanics (a very physics heavy class) and swooped in to offer tutoring services, which ultimately lead to the successful completion of biomechanics. After the semester was done, we continued getting to know each other and eventually went on our first date. The rest is history!

For the first year and a half, we got into the routine of finding time for each other around crazy school schedules and even crazier volleyball schedules, often only having a couple hours on a Friday night together once a week. Justin then graduated and headed north to Thunder Bay for two more years of school to finish his degree, while Amanda stayed back at Sheridan to finish her degree and play volleyball. While it was tough to rarely see each other in person (usually only on holidays or once every few months), we managed to push through this time apart with countless video calls and the occasional trip to see each other. We both graduated in 2019, which meant Justin could come home and we had a lot more quality time together. Since then, we have loved doing life together. We still love to play volleyball, spend time with family and friends and have picked up new hobbies such as golf along the way. All these moments culminated in August 28, 2023, when Justin proposed on the stage of the music meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, which is a place that has a lot of meaning and memories to Amanda and her family.

We basked in our engagement for a couple months, then decided it was time to start planning. We have thoroughly enjoyed the planning process so far together and are honoured to have you be part of our special day. We look forward to celebrating with you on April 11, 2025!
