Courtyard by Marriott Long Island City/New York Manhattan View
There is a room block set up under Medina-Brown. Unfortunately, the cutoff for the booking link was sept 3rd.
As of 1 week prior to the wedding, the Courtyard by Marriott still has availability at a non-discounted rate. The closest hotels are the Hilton Garden Inn (located next door) and the Aloft (7min walk). The information on these hotels are listed below under “ADDITIONAL HOTELS IN THE AREA”
airport travel
Laguardia Airport
LGA is the closest airport to Long Island City. There is no Subway or AirTrain that goes directly to/from LGA. Uber/Lyft pickups are recommended.
(Unless you want to be adventurous and take the bus to the subway!)
JFK Airport
The AirTrain at JFK connects each terminal with the Subway. To get to Long Island City, take the AirTrain towards Jamaica Station (not Howard Beach). You pay for the AirTrain once you reach Jamaica Station and can pay with Apple/Google Pay or purchase a metro card at the terminal before the exit. Follow the signs for the Subway E train where you can again pay via Apple/Google pay or a metro card. Catch the E train towards Manhattan (may be labeled as World Trade Center) and take the Subway to the Queens Plaza station.
Uber/Lyft pick up is available as well.
Newark Airport
EWR is the toughest airport to get to Long Island City. Lyft/Uber is recommended although travel time may be long depending on the time of day.
To get to Long Island City from EWR, you can take the Air Train to Newark Airport Train Station and then take the NJ Transit to NYC Penn Station (not Newark Penn Station). You can pay for the train via the app "NJ TRANSIT Mobile App." From Penn Station take the E Train Queens Bound and exit at Queens Plaza.
Parking in Long Island City
The Courtyard Marriott does NOT have a parking garage. There are very few 24 hour parking garages / lots in this area and they tend to fill up quickly. The parking garages are about $50 a night if available. There is metered street parking in the area, however it is very limited and meters only last two hours. We would not recommend driving due to limited/expensive parking.
