One Wednesday night in March 2019, Justin and Sarah separately made a very good bad decision to go to a local bar in Simsbury. Justin went after his weekly bowling league and Sarah at the behest of her regular customers from the restaurant she had just closed for the night. They happened to both be waiting for a drink at the bar at the same time and struck up a conversation (neither of whom remembers what about).
By that summer they took their first trip to Florida together, where they shared their love of Harry Potter World and Justin brought Sarah to her first professional baseball game. She’s been a Rays fan ever since #RaysUp! When Sarah left to go back to Connecticut and Justin stayed an extra week with family, they realized that they didn’t like being apart that long. By the close of 2019, Justin and Sarah were lucky enough to find a small but suitable apartment to share together. With the help of friends and family they were able to celebrate their first Christmas and New Years in their new place.
We all know what happened in the few months following…
Both of them being essential workers, Sarah and Justin were forced to balance work/home life in a different way than ever before. Fortunately for them, the close quarters and copious amount of time together made them grow as a couple and appreciate the little things.
The next few years seem like a blur. Sarah, with Justin’s encouragement and support, left the food industry after 10 long years, for a successful and happy management career in customer service. Justin, along with teaching Physics, went back to grad school to earn a 6th Year Degree in STEAM Education. He is now the Department Head at his school of 9 years.
Justin decided to surprise Sarah with a trip to Florida and on March 20th, 2023, Justin proposed at their favorite place. Which just happened to be a very public place with hundreds of strangers watching; Diagon Alley in Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Orlando.
Justin and Sarah could not have asked for a better community of family and friends. They are overwhelmed at the prospect of sharing this special day with you all and cannot wait to have you celebrate in their marriage!
