Justin and Caylee first laid eyes on each other in the summer of 2021 at a women’s self defense class hosted by their local Sheriff’s Office. Justin, who's a Self Defense Instructor, was assisting in the classes when he walked in to find the most breath taking woman he’d ever seen. Caylee was nervous to go at first but decided to attend, along side of her mom, Cindy, who quickly noticed Caylee couldn't keep her eyes off Justin. All the while, Justin was doing all he could to remain professional while giving his instruction.

After gathering the courage, Caylee added Justin on Facebook shortly after and the two began constant conversations. Justin finally made the first move by messaging Caylee about a common interest they had, Dustin Poirier. They started sending each other funny memes and videos from Poirier's recent fights and the banter continued. Justin invited Caylee to a Jiu-Jitsu class that he helps teach but did not expect her to show up. Caylee shocked Justin when she did and gave it her all.

After the class, Justin finally asked Caylee on a date. The plans were made and everything seemed ready to go. However, as the time grew closer, Caylee stopped hearing from Justin. Which was both confusing and frustrating. Caylee found out later that Justin was in the hospital with COVID, Strep and pneumonia. Caylee tested positive for COVID a few days later as well. Their first date ended up having to be rescheduled. They tried multiple times to find a way to meet but time after time, life and events got in the way. All seemed lost for the future couple. Caylee was ready to give up but decided to give it one more shot.

On August 22nd , 2021, they finally went on their first date. They enjoyed sushi, margaritas and a walk on the bluff. They said "I Love You" not long after on September 11th , 2021 and Caylee met Cassius on September 19th , 2021. Justin knew on their first date that he was going to marry Caylee one day, but seeing her treat his son like her own is what sealed the deal. Justin proposed to Caylee on September 3rd , 2022, almost a year later, in front of all of her friends and family. Justin and Caylee have been blessed to have such a fairy tale come to a reality and are confident, excited, and look forward to both their wedding day and their happily ever after.
