In March of 2022, Bridget, the kind, passionate extrovert, and Justin, the witty, caring introvert, were brought together by the stars of an algorithm. Within days of matching, Bridget had asked Justin to meet up and get to know each other. Our conversations were fueled by our shared love for bourbon, snowboarding, the outdoors, and good food.

Our first date was at Long Road Distillery, a cozy little spot known for its signature cocktails and intimate atmosphere. Little did we know, it was trivia night and Justin could barely hear a word Bridget said, but he just nodded and kept the conversation going when he could. We talked about everything—favorite slopes, hiking spots, and school (Justin was in nursing school and Bridget was finishing her MPH). It didn’t take long for them to realize that their connection went deeper than just shared hobbies. He was intrigued by her bright energy and the way she lit up when she talked about the things she loved. She adored his sharp mind and the thoughtful way he listened, appreciating her every word.

In the span of two weeks, we went on date after date, from trying out new restaurants to hiking and study sessions. Over the next year and a half, our connection grew stronger, and something special was blossoming, something neither of us wanted to rush but we both could feel it.

It was at that same spot where we had our first date that Justin decided to propose. He had carried the ring around for weeks. As he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring, Bridget was overwhelmed with excitement. Instead of the “yes” Justin was expecting, Bridget couldn’t stop saying, “Oh my god, thank you!” over and over, her joy radiating in every word.

Justin laughed and finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Bridget FINALLY said "yes"—it was always “yes.” And from that moment on our adventure began.
