It all started on a girls' night out when Justine wandered into The Fish, a cozy bar owned by Matthew at the time. What began as a casual evening turned into something much more significant when she met Matthew — and, of course, Mambo, his lovable dog. After a fun night out, the three of them went back to her place, and that was it. Matthew pretty much moved in that very night!

From the moment they met, Justine couldn’t help but notice Matthew’s striking blue eyes and his charming Scottish accent although some say it was Mambo who truly stole her heart. They hit it off right away, but there was a funny moment that still brings a smile to their faces: Justine lost an earring at the bar, and weeks later, Matthew tracked it down and returned it to her, proving that he was as thoughtful as he was charming.

Their first date was nothing short of magical. Matthew took Justine to Es Vedra to watch a meteor shower, packing mats, cushions, blankets, wine, and snacks. As they made their way there down a very dark path, Justine jokingly expressed her concern about whether Matthew would get her there in one piece — but he reassured her that he wouldn't let anything happen, as long as she didn’t try to kill him first. The night was filled with laughter, beautiful stars, and that perfect feeling of butterflies.

From that moment on, they couldn’t stay apart. Just five months after meeting, they officially moved in together, and things just felt right. It didn’t take long for them to realize that they respectively were “the one.” It was simple—when you know, you know.

They share many quirky things, but one of their favorites is their mutual obsession with cheese. It's safe to say they never need an excuse to indulge! And every time they hear Sky and Sand or Follow the Sun, they’re reminded of how far their love has come.

The proposal was an absolute surprise. Matthew had known for a long time that Justine had always wanted her grandmother’s ring, which was in the care of her Auntie Loulou. Without her knowing, Matthew coordinated with Jeremy, her brother, to get the ring and even asked Michel, her father, for her hand while they were in Canada. When they returned, he used the celebration of Justine’s five years in Spain as the perfect excuse to take her back to Es Vedra. There, on a beautiful picnic at sunset and where their story began, he asked her to be his forever.

Today, they live in a beautiful casita with their dog, Mambo, and couldn’t be happier. As they prepare for the next chapter, they’re excited to spend the rest of their lives together, making more memories and savoring every moment.
