Our Story

Michael's Version

After years of knowing each other and being in the same circle the stars aligned.

One thing led to another after making mistakes in my past I was given an opportunity to take Justine out for brunch. It was the first date that led to our second and third date all in the same day.

Since that special day, she has given me a chance finally after so many years of knowing each other we have been one amazing team. Through so many different challenges we have overcome and continue to grow our love stronger and stronger. This journey of our love has grown from friendship to a relationship that is completely filled with love and laughter.

Justine's Version

Mike and I first met May, of 2015 at Studio Square to celebrate my sister Allie’s 26th birthday. I wish I could say that when we met I knew he was the one for me but that would be a complete lie. I spent the night at a distance from him but had a strong nervous feeling in my stomach and I didn’t know why. It was a feeling that greeted me every time we were in the same place. It took him 4 1/2 years to get me on a date. The road to our first date was filled with short conversations and me being mean, which if you know me, you know mean is usually not my character. We worked together at Recovery Room a few nights and I would tell him I didn’t need his help. But he didn’t give up.

In November 2019 I experienced the worst tragedy of my life, the passing of my youngest sister Kayla Rose. Kayla was my sidekick through life and the most important person in my world, and no one or thing was more of a priority to me. Mike came to show his respects and as soon as I saw him I had a nervous feeling in my stomach again, but this time I knew it was Kayla telling me that it was time to put myself first and find my partner in crime.

We went on our first day January 5th, 2020. Our first date lasted 14 hours. Even though Mike isn’t a brunch person, he agreed to meet me early at Queens Comfort. I got there first, and when he walked in the nervous feeling in my stomach was back. He smiled at me, gave me a hug and my nerves subsided. We talked about everything under the sun.. including Shakespeare and I knew I didn’t want to spend a day without him, the rest is history.

On May 29th, 2022 Michael very excitedly asked me to be his wife and I of course cried, a lot. Counting down the days till I get to call his husband.
