I met Kaboni early spring 2022. We met online and I quickly learned through our conversations that she was smart and had great faith. The first day I talked to her she was enthusiastic about interviewing for new jobs and moving to another state. We both weren't sure of long distance dating, but I still wanted to talk to her because she was great to talk to. Soon we would video call every day and talk for hours.

She asked me what I liked doing in my free time. When she discovered I used to hike pre-pandemic she suggested our fist date be a hike. I had not been outdoors for a while, but hiking with her was fun. She loves taking pictures, so she took a lot of pictures. As I got to know her I knew that she is someone I wanted to be with as she brings out the best in me. Kaboni said the first time she met me she thought I was shy, it does take me long to open up to people. Once we got to know each other more she said she could see how genuinely interested I was in what she likes, she thinks am a good listener and a great conversationalist. I am grateful for the daily video calls, the flights across states and fun dates because now I have found the one for me. We are happy we took this chance on love

On New Year’s Eve we drove to the Washington D.C. Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to see the Festival of Lights. While there we talked about our journey together and the new year ahead. We talked about marriage and family and at the end of this conversation and we agreed to be together forever. He asked me what kind of ring I wanted, and I said "I want a ruby, because it's precious". This conversation marked our unofficial engagement.

We were excited, but Naresh still wanted to surprise me with an official engagement proposal. I knew this was coming, but I had no idea when and how he would do it. He told he couldn't find a ruby, I was sad and told him a sapphire is my other choice. During my visit he apologized that he had orderered a ring and shipping was delayed. That meant we would have no ring for our scheduled engagement photoshoot and he was sorry. I said it is okay what matters is we are going to be together forever and we would proceed with the photoshoot as planned. On 03.22.23 I went to our engagement photoshoot with no ring (I mentioned it to him and he said not to worry and just enjoy the shoot 😊). While taking our pictures and he got on one knee and asked me to marry him (and it was a Ruby), I said ‘YES’ again.
