Our Wedding

We met the modern way: online—on April Fool’s Day, no less. Thankfully, it wasn't a joke and Tanner's many questions kept Kacey intrigued. A few messages in, we realized we had family friends in common because Tanner grew up in Ferndale, a place Kacey visited every year as a kid. Then came the plot twist: our parents were in the same wedding party back in the ’80s. It's a crazy little world that we live in. Two months of talking later, Kacey moved from California to Idaho and they finally met in person. Their first “date” was dinner in the little town of Priest River, followed by a sunset walk to the water. It was the kind of simple, easy night that makes you think, “Oh… this could be something.” Tanner then proceeded to spend three straight days with Kacey's family—her brother’s 30th, quad rides to the lookout, and general Memorial Day weekend chaos. He handled it like a champ, and Kacey's family didn’t scare him off. Promise they tried. A couple of weeks later, Tanner and Kacey headed to Montana to meet the whole Regli clan. It was a lovely week, eating good food and having good chats. The Regli crew is a complete blast. The months that followed were a highlight reel of everyday adventures: building a chicken coop (yes, they are finally laying eggs), paddle boarding, lots of time with family, and an almost suspicious number of tri-tip BBQs. Six months in, Tanner proposed the way that felt most “them”: on a run, no phones, no photos, just the two of them. It took Kacey by complete surprise, after the shock wore off there was nothing but absolute joy. Now they're here, grateful for the twisty, small-world path that brought them together, excited for the big day, and even more excited for all the ordinary, wonderful days after it.
