Our Wedding

It all started when Kacey and James needed to make changes in their lives. James had recently gotten out of a serious relationship and changed careers. Kacey had been working and going to school in the same places for a decade and was ready to take being a professor seriously. They became friends while playing Dungeons and Dragons. Kelsey Murphy and Brandon Irey introduced them, invited them to play, and James volunteered to lead almost a dozen drunk goofballs twice a month in a game all about storytelling, adventure, and not taking yourself too seriously. Kacey admired James' ability to tell a story, and James admired her dedication to balancing her career and time with her friends and family. After James and his ex-girlfriend had broken up, Kacey invited him to visit her house in Cape May. Kacey’s Aunt Val sent them on trips to give them time alone. Meanwhile, Kacey’s mom occasionally scared all of them with her enthusiasm for March Madness. Kacey and James took the classic long walk on the beach and had their first kiss at the end of watching Moana. Some of James and Kacey’s best memories while dating have been their visits to quaint Winchester, VA, gorgeous Tucson, AZ, and, of course, many trips back to the bay in Cape May. Just when they thought Cape May could never get more special, James proposed to Kacey during sunset July 3, 2019. Kacey’s mom snuck champagne down to the bay. With written-in-the-stars timing, some early fireworks wrapped up that already perfect moment.

Shuttle and Parking InformationWe want everyone to have fun and be safe without worry, so please note for planning out your driving and parking: Everly at Railroad has parking across the street from the venue itself. If you need to, you’re able to leave your card there overnight. There will be first-come, first-serve school bus shuttle leaving from the Pier 4 Hotel at 3pm for the ceremony and returning to the hotel by 10pm after the reception. It will make 8 trips in total (back and forth). There will also be a Jitney for after the reception. Please let us know if you’re staying somewhere besides the Pier 4 or Sonesta Suites before Friday April 9 so we can properly inform our Jitney driver.

The most popular beach closest to our wedding events is Ocean City. However, there are lots of fun South Jersey beaches you can check out if you stay for the whole weekend. Our wedding party is likely to continue in Cape May, so please feel free to join us there!

Please let us know if you're staying somewhere besides the Sonesta or the Pier 4 as soon as possible. Please don't bring gifts or money to the wedding venue. We'd much rather make time to see you in person if you're unable to ship them. Cards are welcome! Don't worry about selecting menu items - it's a food truck wedding! You won't be limited to a dinner time, you can start eating during cocktail hour if you want. There won't be a bouquet toss, but we will be bringing cornhole boards! No need to pay to dance with the bride. Just check with her future husband and dad. She expects to dance with her uncles, friends, and anyone who's down to boogie! Please bring a mask, as it's unlikely there will be much distance at this social event!

We're keeping it mellow, so choose whichever of these styles you feel most comfortable in! Just remember James will be the most handsome man there.
