If you ask Grant-

Our relationship started with a stepped on foot, dinner, and a putt put golf victory. In today’s day and age, dating apps are increasingly prevalent, and that is exactly how we met. I was immediately smitten with her incredible smile and gorgeous eyes and knew I needed to get to know her more. We began messaging back and forth and exchanged numbers. I asked her on our first date which included a trip to Aspen Creek Grill, followed by a friendly round of Putt Putt. Our competitive sides did come out a bit, and I did win. I, in fact, thought I ruined it stepping on her foot when dropping her off. I immediately went home and texted my dad, full well knowing he was asleep, that I had just gone on a date with “the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

Our second date included a trip to the Jones At&T stadium where I had to show my love for everything Texas Tech. She sat with me in the sun on a hot West Texas day, through the WHOLE game and I knew she was a keeper. Over the next several months, we began going on more dates and spending time together including spending lots of time at the dog park with Murray, Max, and Dolly.

As the season changed, and our relationship grew, I knew I had to make it official and ask her to be my girlfriend. If any of you know me, you know I don’t move incredibly fast. But, by the grace of God she was patient! I decided we would go pick out pumpkins, and go carve them at my house. I picked out my design and she picked out hers and we began carving. At the end of the evening, I walked her to her car and asked her to be my girlfriend, to which she replied “well I thought I already was.”

From that point forward, the rest is history.

Looking back, technically Grant and I first meet two years prior at a dog park dolly and I randomly visited. I remember seeing the cutest guy standing in a group of people chatting and play with all the other dogs. So naturally, I chunked dolly’s ball right at them on “accident” but got super nervous and didn’t say anything to anyone. I left that day mad at myself for not talking to the mystery man.

Fast forward 2022, fresh out of a terrible relationship, and I decided to download a dating app and try my hand at finding love. After 5 minutes of looking, I stumble upon a very cute boy with an equally cute dog and thought “that’s the one” and matched with him and then waited for a message.

PTL! He did finally message me “do you also sit around and wonder if you’re good enough for Dr Pepper, or is that just me” to which I said “well tbh I’m more of a Mr Pibb” and then radio silence! It did take Grant a whole day to response but after that it was clear that we definitely had that spark.

Our first date Grant will tell you he stepped on my foot when he dropped me off at home after but, all I remember was just the instant connection. He planned the whole night : dinner at Aspen Creek, putt putt at Main Event (I’m sticking with I let him win 😉) and then we sat in his car and talked for a long while.

After the first date I immediately began telling everyone I was dating the most handsome, kind and funny man but apparently Grant didn’t get there as fast as me. October rolls around (3 months after our first date) and he finally “officially” asks me to be his girlfriend to which I replied “oh I thought I already was, I’ve been telling everyone”

And the rest is history ❤️
