Our Story

A little about us and our journey

oh where to begin....

September 25, 2019, Dylan and I started messaging each other. After some time and much convincing, we decided to meet on October 10, 2019, Dylan drove to my college dorm that Mary (roommate) went home for the weekend, and watched the Ted Bundy film with Zac Efron... yeah... I know.... probably not the best choice given the circumstances, but it's Zac Efron... Then to show off my few skills, I decided to show him that I can crack my feet... but quite literally as I snapped my foot in half, and instead of screaming in pain, I stared in shock as Dylan with a horrified look on his face goes that didn't sound normal. So what's worse than a first date where your date watches you break your own foot? Ending up in a boot and having to hobble around on the rest of your dates knowing the fact that he sat there and watched me do it..... but hey, he stuck around! Then fast forward a few days later on October 19, 2019, he asked me to be his girlfriend :)

Fast forward some more to the I love you
I would say our love was strong right from the beginning, down to the hours spent driving to see each other to even Dylan camping out in my dorm room on his day offs while I was in class to see me the few minutes in between classes and when I would be free for the day. I wanted to make a note how I knew I had fallen for this man early on, and how technically we’ve been engaged this whole time because not long after in October, I proposed with a plastic straw wrapper that I twisted into a ring- and he said yes :) how often I held my tongue from I love you was well over the number of my fingers on my hand, because he mentioned how he wanted to take things slow. I knew it was important for him to know on his own and not as a response from me, so no matter how painful it was or how often it almost slipped out when we kissed under the Space Needle on New Years, in Gatlinburg Tennessee, under fireworks, around cheering crowds, or how HARD it was finding a Valentine's Day card without the words I love you written inside.... it didn't matter because for the first time on February 14, 2020, Dylan bought a bouquet of Sunflowers and told me he loved me, and I said it back.

Our fur baby, Louie came into our lives and has been a spoiled princess ever since, favoring feedings from her dad due to his tendency to feed her extra with some head kisses as payment.
Then something that changed my life, he pushed me to start my business, when I doubted the odds for it to succeed, he believed in me like he could see the future. And he was right, and our lives will forever be changed by it, Kacie's Honey Pot would not have existed if he didn't believe in me so much, it's the reason why we are able to even survive and have this dream wedding, our lives changed in the matter of months, I am very grateful for his support and his unbelievable faith in me.

Engagement Time :)

Gatlinburg Tennessee became a very special place in our hearts, a place where both of parents enjoy and visit themselves now and while they were a younger couple, it became our annual trip to see the fireworks on New Years, hopefully catch some snow and listen to cowboy songs riding through the mountains and breathing the fresh air, and of course stopping for boiled peanuts :) So on December 31 2020, while at Anakesta, the highest place in Gatlinburg, surrounded by a forest of twinkling lights hanging from trees to a cliff into the valley, he dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him.... and I said yes :) We live together now (we lived together before engagement) and it’s brought nothing but us closer and we learn something about each other everyday, whether it be that I really enjoy sticking my cold feet on his stomach or that he likes to make the apartment FREEZING cold... neither one of us can deny we’ve already become partners fighting off the world together, facing quick time limits, fast planning and stress. And there are so many memories I could go on and on about, like my car accident, the Marine ball and how Dylan walked through a bush and face planted in the Uber, sipping tea in the cafe on the river in Savannah, It all made us stronger and even though we will be leaving after the wedding, in a whole new chapter in a whole new state across the U.S. I know we will face it like we’ve always had, together, and officially by then, married :)
