Day of Details

Sam and Kacy met online in 2019. Sam's tagline on her dating profile caught Kacy's eye: "looking for a good guy to take me fishing". Sam was drawn to a photo of Kacy holding a brown trout - she thought that if he could catch her a fish like that, she’d give him a try. They took a chance on one another and exchanged numbers. Several weeks of texting back and forth went by before they decided they were interested enough to set up a date. They settled on dinner at a small Thai restaurant. The first date went well enough that Kacy was open to sharing a fishing spot or two with Sam. A number of dates and fishing trips later, Sam and Kacy were playing hooky on a Wednesday, enjoying ice-fishing. Kacy got a call from his Uncle, Glenn. Sam couldn't hear Glenn's questions, but she heard Kacy's answers: "I took the day off.” "I'm out on Metonga catching perch." "Just me and my girlfriend." Their relationship status hadn't been discussed prior to that phone call. Glenn knew Sam was Kacy's girlfriend before Sam did! Sam giggled and asked Kacy if this meant they were officially dating. Kacy said Sam was the only girl he was fishing with, so it must be official. A few months after that day out on the ice, Sam met Kacy's children - Ayla and her brother, Owen. Sam was captivated by these kiddos the first time she met them. Owen had an uncanny resemblance in personality and interests to Kacy. Ayla, a fiery spirit and the kindest heart. Sam fell in love with Kacy’s kids much faster than Kacy fell for Sam’s dogs. Despite being unsure of being a dog dad, it wasn’t much longer until Kacy moved into Sam's house and the extra bedrooms were set up for the kids. By this time, both Kacy and Sam had met each-other's immediate and extended families. Sam had met the children’s mother, Amanda, and a beautiful blended family began to flourish. Kacy, Sam, and the kids have shared many memories. Together with Sam's extended family, they have traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama and South Padre Island, Texas. They have camped out with Kacy's family for Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends. There have been endless adventures on streams, rivers, lakes, deer stands, and turkey blinds. Across the past (nearly) 5 years, Kacy and Sam have supported each other as they have grown as a couple, as parents, and as individuals. They've shared in love, loss, triumphs, and tribulations. Through it all, they have had the support of one another and their amazing families and friends. They look forward to continuing that growth with the ongoing support of their loved ones for the rest of their days.

Sabrina is the little sister of Samantha. Sabrina is also mother to Samantha's favorite (and only) Nephew, Theo.

Owen and Kacy met when Owen was only 5. Kacy has been like a father to Owen ever since. While blood does not bind them, love certainly does.

Emily is Samantha's best friend and ride-or-die. The pair are two peas in a pod and met freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.

Kacy and Chris first became friends in high school. Through the good, bad, and ugly, the two have remained best friends for all these years.

Jordyn and Samantha have been close friends since their high school days of being on the dance team and continue to make memories together.

Kacy and Brad met while working at Sportsman's Warehouse. They were roommates when Sam and Kacy met and remain close, today.

Samantha and Lauren have been friends since freshman year of college. Despite life's changes, the two remain close.

Kory and Kacy met while working at Sportsman's Warehouse. Since, they have shared in many fun fishing, hunting, and camping excursions.

Catherine and Samantha have been good friends since early in high school. Catherine remains one of Sam's closest friends.

Kyle and Kacy are cousins and friends. The pair enjoy similar hobbies and, in adulthood, have enjoyed their hobbies, together.

Andrea and Samantha have been close friends since sophomore year of college at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.

Luke and Kacy met while Kacy was working at Sportsman's Warehouse. Luke's Boykin Spaniel, Sky, has also trained with Sam's dad, Dave.

Amy is Samantha's aunt, but with only 6 years between them, they grew up as sisters. Amy also officiated for Samantha's sister and Co-matron of honor, Sabrina in 2022.

Ayla is Kacy's daughter, and the beautiful miniature Bride. Sam looks forward to years of sharing her crown with this little "head of the household".
