Hi Everyone! As most of you all know, Leo and I have decided to finally book a wedding in Brazil in March of 2025. We are well aware that attending is not going to be feasible for many people, and are we are COMPLETELY understanding of this, please do not feel pressure to make the trip. We are so grateful for all of your love, support and friendship throughout the years.

The wedding venue is called Fazenda Vintem and is considered a "destination wedding venue" and we have the entire property rented from 10 am March 28th to 6 pm March 30th. There are chalets on the property which sleep 4 people and are rented for the entire stay which are $200 Canadian for the Friday-Sunday. Once we have our RSVPs, I will contact you directly with how to book them. I will be attaching photos of the venue/chalets in the photos section so you can have an idea.

The Friday night we will be having a welcome party/barbeque for our out-of-town guests and family, brunch will be provided Saturday morning prior to the wedding. The ceremony will take place at 5 pm on the Saturday and the reception will be immediately following. There will also be an after party for anyone staying at the venue around the pool area. Sunday, we will also be providing brunch and since we have the venue until 6 pm can take our time to hangout by the pool.

Unfortunately, the closest airport is quite a trek (approx 3 hours), but we will be helping to arrange transportation for anyone who would like it! Fortunately, one of Leo's close friends in Brazil owns a private transportation business and will be hiring drivers to transport to and from the airport (this is also how we get to and from the airport every time we travel to Brazil as driving can be quite tricky). This cost per car is approximately $150 per trip (smaller car fitting 2 people), but if there are more people arriving at the same time, we can work out a bigger car or van to fit around 4-6 people which will be around $300. Once your flights are booked you will provide Leo and I with your flight information so we can book a car/driver for you. We typically look at booking flights 3-4 months ahead of time for Brazil, but please do what works best for you. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please let me know!!

We were initially under the impression Brazil would be implementing visitor visas needed for Canadian citizens travelling to Brazil, but as of right now, the government website states this will start April 10, 2025 (GREAT NEWS)!! I will be keeping an eye out on the website and will update you all if anything changes, but I've pasted the link here as well VISITOR VISA — Ministério das Relações Exteriores (www.gov.br).

Following the wedding some friends and family will be traveling to Rio de Janeiro to spend a few days there. The plan is to book a hotel so that everyone can book rooms at their leisure! If this is your plan, it may be worth looking at a multi city flight to cut down on travel time/costs (ex. Toronto/Detroit to Sao Paulo --- Rio de Janeiro to Toronto/Detroit). We will help organize transportation to Rio as well. More details on this to come :)
