Kaela and Nick met back in college at the University of West Florida. They first met her freshman year, where Nick was a Resident Assistant in the dorm she lived in. They frequently hung out with the same groups of people, as they were both in fraternity and sorority life. They didn't find a romantic connection with each other while in college however, but instead was something they came into a few years after graduation.

During new years of 2019, Nick had planned to hang out with several of his fraternity brothers and other friends from college, most of whom Kaela was familiar with. She had just recently began her career as a Flight Attendant, and her and Nick had also recently been talking more frequently at the time, but just as friends. On a whim, Nick invited Kaela to Florida for New Years so she could surprise a mutual friend of theirs. She managed to get on a last minute flight from Las Vegas where she was based at the time.

Upon her arrival to Tampa, Nick and a friend picked her up from the airport New Years eve evening. To this point they had been nothing more than friends rekindling an old college friendship. But if you ask Nick, he'll never forget when they picked Kaela up from the airport and she greeted him in the car by putting her hands on his shoulders, and he instantly felt something he had never felt before. Through the course of the night, Nick put on every move in the book to try and make sure she noticed him in more than just a friendly way.

The night ended, and Kaela flew back to San Diego the next day, and life went on. They continued to talk almost every day over the next few months, but since they lived so far apart and were both working, they were unable to see each other. Their feelings began to grow for each other, and eventually they were planning a trip for Nick to fly out to San Diego for a visit.

He flew out for a week long trip, and before you could bat an eye they were falling head over heels in love with each other. They explored the California coast together, and it was the start of all the new adventures they would share. A few short months later, they made things official as a couple at a Millers Ale House (fancy, we know) after a day long trip at Disney World.

Fast forward, after a few moves to get Kaela back to Florida, their real love story began. Kaela's parents recently moved up to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia. Kaela told Nick to not make any plans one weekend because we were going to visit Kaela's parents. Little did Kaela know that, that was the weekend that Nick was going to propose. Kaela, Nick and her parents went hiking at a place called Brasstown Bald. It's the highest point in Georgia. When you make it to the top, on a clear day you can see four different states! Needless to say the views from the top were gorgeous. They hiked to the top to watch the sunset and when the sun started to set, Nick got right to his plan. After 3 years together, on March 19 '22, waiting for the sun to set, Nick got down on one knee and proposed to Kaela. She had no clue it was coming and immediately started crying happy tears, with an immediate YES! The engagement ring, was custom made. The ring itself was his dads mothers ring, the center diamond is from Kaela's mothers wedding ring, and he added a halo. The perfect blend of their families and of their love.

Nick and Kaela cannot wait to start their marriage journey and are so excited to have you there to support us and our love!
