Clayton &amp; Kaelani met for the first time at the Yulee Bowling Alley in Spring of 2021. Their first date was at Salt Life in Fernandina followed by his cousin, Crissie's, thirteenth birthday party. After drifting from each other for some time in the summer, Kaelani's friend and bridesmaid, Ella Bailey, brought them back together. One family trip to Steinhatchee and Clay and Kaelani have been inseparable since. Clay attended school in TCC for a year while Kaelani stayed in Jacksonville to begin her academic journey. Although, I'm pretty sure Clay spent more time in Jacksonville than he did in Tallahassee which landed him back home the next year.The years following were dedicated to family and building a solid foundation for their relationship. They spent days on the river, at the beach, at home, at the golf course and on trips together, but most of all they spent time getting to know and love each other's family as their own which has been the greatest gift of this journey. This May, Clayton and Kaelani visited their favorite place to go together, Charleston, South Carolina. Clayton decided that he would not leave this vacation with a girlfriend so he proposed to Kaelani. She set him up perfectly when she planned a private sailboat cruise in Folly Beach. He got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket (without a box, on a boat...) and asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course.If you are reading this, just know you have helped shape their journey in some way. As they embark on a journey of marriage, faith, moving, dental school, babies etc., they are immensely grateful for your endless love and support.
