Dylan and Kaelie met at Al's Pizza in Skowhegan. Dylan liked to stop in on his way home from work for a slice, and Kaelie was usually the one behind the counter.

A Facebook friend request, and a few conversations later, Kaelie told Dylan she had a boyfriend (which she did not). After a few more tries, and one snow storm rescue later, Kaelie agreed to go out, but was sure to tell Dylan she was only going for the free food and that it was not a date.

Now, this date, or non-date, did not go at all as planned. They tried to go to Olive Garden, but found that there was a two hour wait. Skipping across town, they went to Texas Roadhouse instead. After the food delay, they got to the movie theater with minutes to spare, only to find that the movie they had picked only had one ticket left. Quick on his feet as always, Dylan picked the Mark Wahlberg movie that was showing 20 minutes later with confidence, stating that Mark Wahlberg did not make bad movies. He would live to regret that choice. The movie was so dull, that Dylan and Kaelie would later agree they both would have left if they had not been on a date. Sorry, a non-date. It was so dull, in fact, that Dylan, coming right off a long week of work, took off his steel-toed boots, reclined the seat, and promptly fell asleep.

After that, they talked constantly across multiple platforms (texting, Facebook, Snapchat, etc), you know, as kids do. They were also going out regularly, though someone (cough, cough) was still insisting they were not dating.

Not much later, Dylan took Kaelie to his Dad's 50th Birthday Party, where she got to meet pretty much everyone from Cornville and the surrounding towns. Dylan did his due diligence and introduced her to everyone at the party, though to this day she could not tell you who she met. There was just one problem though. Every introduction included the phrase "my friend, Kaelie". Was this wrong? No. That is what she had been insisting they were. But after the party, Kaelie told Dylan that she was upset about it. To which he responded that he was only doing exactly what she had told him to do.

The next day, Facebook relationship statuses were changed and as you know, once that happens, shit is serious.

The rest is history.
