Kaelyn and Ryan’s journey began in August of their freshman year in high school, where fate placed them in the same class. Kaelyn can’t quite recall her exact first impression of Ryan, but one thing stands out: she thought he was incredibly cute. As they started walking to classes with friends, it didn’t take long for Kaelyn to realize that she liked Ryan and hoped he would ask her out. She waited patiently, dropping hints and chatting with their friends, wondering if he felt the same way. As time went on, they created deeper bonds and expanded their family with the animals they love, like their dog Kovu and multiple cats. They took trips around the states, from New York to Hawaii, enjoying each other’s company along the way.

After 12 incredible years of growing together, loving each other, and building their lives, Kaelyn had slowly come to accept that Ryan might never ask the big question. But then, he surprised her in the most perfect way. They took a trip to Mont St. Michel in France—a place that immediately reminded Kaelyn of the kingdom from the movie Tangled. They wandered out onto the shifting sands surrounding the island, just having fun, taking photos, and enjoying each other’s company. Kaelyn was completely caught off guard when, suddenly, Ryan got down on one knee. In that moment, everything fell into place. It was the perfect proposal, in the perfect place, and she was completely shocked.

Their shared love for animals, travel, video games, and camping has always brought them closer, enriching their lives with simple joys. Their story is one of patience, love, and the deep bond they’ve nurtured over the years. As they prepare to say “I do,” they are filled with excitement and anticipation for the next chapter of their journey together.
