For those of you that don’t know, Kai and Mitch’s story is a bit unconventional, so here’s the shortened version instead haha! They met in the Marine Corps while both being stationed at II MIG in Camp Lejeune, NC. Mitchell was Psychological Operations (PsyOp) and Kaila was Communication Strategy and Operations (CommStrat) AKA Combat Camera. In December of 2018 they had a safety brief at the MIG headquarters building (where Mitchell worked) before they could go out on liberty that weekend. Mitchell was in a flannel and jeans, while the rest of the Marines were in cammies. It was freezing outside and Kaila was standing right next to Mitchell but they hadn’t known each other then, they only exchanged a few words. Fast forward to May of 2019, they had another brief at the headquarters building where Kai had seen Mitch outside of the parking garage before heading inside. She and her roommate had sat down and Kai would not stop talking about the “attractive yeehaw guy” she just saw. Moments later, that same guy walked in. The whole duration of the brief they kept locking eyes and smiling and then looking away. When they got up to leave they locked eyes one more time and left, hoping they might see each other again. That very next day, they did. Every weekend Kai and her friends had played beer pong right outside her room in the barracks and Mitchell typically stayed in his room (on 5th deck) and drank with one of his buddies. This weekend was different. Kai was sitting in her room before her friends came back, debating if she should just call it an early night and get some sleep, and Mitchells friend had told him that there was a party on 4th deck and they should go down and hangout. Mitchell asked who all was going to be there, when usually he would’ve just stayed in his room. His friend named a couple of the people going and then he said “oh and the redhead from CommStrat” and Mitchell stopped and thought “it might be her” so he decided to go. Kaila heard talking outside of her room so she decided to go outside and play since everyone was already there. As soon as Kai opened her door, the very first person she saw was Mitchell. From there, their story began. A couple weeks went by of them talking everyday and going on all sorts of cool adventures and they decided to go out to eat with a couple friends at Texas Roadhouse. After eating, it was about 10pm and they all made the spontaneous decision to go to the beach. While they were there, Kai looked at Mitch when they were in the water and said “We could be crazy” and Mitchell for whatever reason knew exactly what she meant and said “yea? we could.” From then on, that became their thing. We could be crazy. Just two people living the lives they’ve always dreamed of and being crazy…together ❤️

AKA Kai! Kaila is a bright ray of sunshine and the most loving and giving person, but she’s also the most competitive person you’ll ever meet! Fun fact(s), Kaila loves slugging (laying in bed all day), anything sweet, only odd numbers, screaming songs in the car, and she played on the All-Marine travel softball team!

AKA Mitch, AKA Mitchy, AKA Fletch! Anyone who knows Mitchell, knows that he’s the absolute sweetest and the epitome of a man’s man. Fun fact(s), Mitchell likes big trucks, going to the gym, panda bears, flannels, and he was voted “most handsome” and “best smile” in high school!

AKA Kiki, AKA Keik! She’s Kaila’s little (not so little) sister; they’re exactly 1 year and 20 days apart! Fun fact, she’s going to be a lawyer so if you need one, hit her up!

Kilani

AKA Danny! Danny is Mitchell’s oldest brother and longest friend! Fun fact, he’s the dad of little Mila and Mya who are our flower girls!

AKA Gabe, AKA Gabey! Gabe is Mitchell’s youngest brother! Fun fact, he’s pretty much a pro gamer and he has a twin!

Gabriel

Nat is Kaila’s sister-in-law! Fun fact, she’s also the mama of little Ridge Raine who is our ring bearer and the wifey of Mica who is our officiant!

Natalie

AKA Racioppi, AKA Rac! Nick and Mitchell met in Camp Lejeune, NC. while both being at II MIG as Psychological Operation Marines! Fun fact, Nick has the coolest mustache you’ll ever see…you’ll know who he is as soon as you see it!

Nicholas

Margaux is one of Kaila’s closest friends! They grew up together playing softball and making “funny” YouTube videos! Fun fact, she’s a cancer survivor!

AKA Daez! Kaila and Adaezia met in the Marine corps; they went through boot camp, MCT, Combat Camera school house and then we’re both stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. Fun fact, they only have “slug” (lazy) pictures together!

AKA Fred, AKA Animal, AKA Big Hoss! Mitchell and Denver met in the delayed entry program for the Marine Corps and ended up being in the same platoon in boot camp, going through MCT, Motor Transportation school, and then got stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. together! Fun fact, him and his siblings are all named after states and cities!

AKA Carrie! She is Mitchell’s sister! Fun fact, she has the most beautiful curly blonde hair and she’s pretty much an olympic athlete!

AKA Carson, AKA Yeehaw! Him and Mitchell met in the Marine Corps and immediately bonded over beer and trucks…the rest is history! Fun fact, he could tell you literally anything about cars and trucks; let him listen to your engine and he’ll guess the make, model, year and probably the color too lol

AKA Julie, AKA Juuls! Julie is Mitchell’s youngest sister and a music/art guru! Fun fact, Gabe is her twin and she saved his life when he was born and having complications breathing. The nurses set her next to Gabe and he immediately started breathing normal! #GabeIsEternallyGrateful
