If you are lucky enough to know us, then you may know Jake and I have been together since April 20,2017. You would also know we are actually already married and have been since February 6, 2021. Eight years of being together as a couple, and four years married.

Our original plan was to have a "bigger" wedding surrounded by close family and friends in June of 2021. We wanted our love to be shared and celebrated by those who have loved and supported us. We had a venue picked out; I had a wedding dress picked out and I was deep into planning.

Unfortunately, between the death of an important person in my life, covid shutting the world down, and my son's dad taking me to court, Jake and I decided it was best to move our wedding date up and cancel everything we had done.

While nothing will take away the day we made our vows to each other, it always felt our wedding day that we really dreamt and was meant to be this special day started off wrong. Jake and I told ourselves when the time felt right, we would renew our vows and have the wedding we wanted.

After the first two years of a rough start to our marriage the growth we have done as a couple, and individuals in the last two years is why we felt that this year was the year to renew our vows. The marriage Jake and I have now, is not the same marriage or relationship we had even 6 years ago.

When I saw that April 26 fell on a Saturday this year, I knew it was meant to be. Although Jake and I got married on Feb. 6, we have always celebrated our April 20th anniversary day. It was the day that started this forever for us. We feel April 26, incorporates both really important days in our relationship, and this will now become the day we celebrate. A day our vows are renewed, surrounded by family and friends, and our marriage can continue to mature and grow.

We really hope to see everyone there, and while we know we are already married this day means just as much to us as our wedding did.
