Nate and Kailee met in June 2020. Kailee's sister, Nicole, and father, Jason, decided to train for a 30-mile bike ride on the Neuse River Trail. Kailee and her mom, Kris, did not participate in this bike ride and instead decided to pick up Nicole and Jason at the trail's end. To celebrate and relax after their long bike ride, the Storie family headed to a brewery restaurant close by, where little did we know Kailee would meet her future husband.

Nicole and Jason were exhausted from their bike ride, so Kailee and Kris headed to the nearby food truck, The Redneck BBQ Lab, where Nate was working. Kailee and Kris were greeted by a nice man named Angelo, who took our order and created some small talk. When our order was ready, Angelo brought it to our table and continued to talk to us more. After about 15 minutes of conversation, Angelo asked Kailee if she was single, immediately sparking anger within my father. Angelo assured Kailee's father that he was asking for a man inside the truck, Nate.

With no hesitation (to which her parents didn't speak to her for two weeks because of this), Kailee gave Angelo her number to then give to Nate, and the rest is history.

Although their meeting was untraditional, it fully encapsulates the beginning of their beautiful love story. Everything happens for a reason, and Nate and Kailee's story defines that.
