Started off our relationship as great friends through College attending Montclair State University. We both were fall sport athletes and business majors- we spent a lot of time together in the athletic centers, college classes, and yes, the bars. This was our first picture together out in Hoboken attempting to mask the heartbreak of ending both our college athletic careers.

Shortly there after with only a couple weeks left of senior year, we started dating (and Mikey was introduced to his first Dalgauer St. Patrick's day).

Graduated together from Montclair State University with Business administration degrees, and it was off to a fun post graduate summer together back and forth from Montclair to Ocean Grove.

Mikey throughout our friendship and beginning relationship, always expressed his love for surfing and Southern California. When he found out Kailey has never been to the west coast, he booked a trip for her birthday to show her around. Throughout the trip, Mikey showed Kailey all of his favorite surf spots and attractions- this is the trip that sparked our love for traveling together!

During this time, we were both assistant collegiate coaches - Kailey for Field Hockey at Mercy College and Mikey for Soccer at MSU. Whenever we would get a break in our busy schedules, we would plan time together- small get away trips to little date nights! However, this was one of our last trips together until the 2020 shut down- Dalgauer Family New Years in Disney!

When the world started to shut down with Covid, our families were worried about us being out and about going back and forth to each other's family houses. This resulted in Mikey deciding to live with the entire Dalgauer crew through the entirety of Covid. Mikey to this day says it was his favorite work from home office- the wine cellar.

Following the shut down, we were able to move down to Mikey's Family's beach house in Ocean Grove for a change of scenery! Had many nights hanging with friends and family in the backyard, beach, and out in Belmar & Asbury!

We were both still working remotely at this time in Covid, but our travel bug was biting. We decided to take advantage and had our first cross country road trip to California. The Grand canyon was one of our stops on our trip out west traveling Route 40!

Lived in San Clemente and Oceanside CA for 3 months post road trip and fell in love with SoCal.

Spent the next few months back in New Jersey with friends and family :), but looking to move in together. Mikey's life long dream was to move to CA and Kailey was elated for the adventure!

Made our way to Hawaii for Kailey's work president's club, and decided to stay out west!

Moved into our first lease apartment together in Encinitas CA. Started our west coast lives together filled with a lot of surfing, sunsets, fish tacos, and new friends!

Being out west, we decided to explore our new home state of California and road tripped to Big Sur.

California Life :) Spent many of our days out in the sunshine with friends and family by the beach!

Pacific Coast Grill- our favorite dinner date spot in Encinitas. We would spend hours here talking about our lives together and "where to next". It was in these date nights we decided it was time to move back East for the next chapter!

ENGAGED! Spent the day apartment shopping and had dinner reservations for Mikey's father's 60th birthday dinner. Little did Kailey know this dinner was actually an engagement party to celebrate with family and friends (best night EVER)!

Newly engaged in California for the month! Spent this month saying goodbyes to our CA home and prepping for a cross country move.

Spent our last night the same way we spent our first night out in California- watching the sunset in our favorite beach spot. We hit the road the next morning with a packed car for another cross country trip on Route 10.

Moved in to our second home together, this time on the east coast in Jersey City (and planning a wedding)! Through our 5 years dating, we have loved every second of our adventurous lives together, and can not wait for a lifetime more!
