JJ and I met on Bumble (yes, a dating app) in March of 2024 and became official the following month. We connected quickly over our shared faith, values, and commitment to growing with the Lord. Some of the things we love to do together include going for drives, playing games and laughing together, and traveling anywhere.
On Monday, October 28th, JJ and I planned to have dinner with his mom and sister, and I was so excited to go out for a nice meal. Dinner ended up getting "pushed back," so JJ picked me up early, so we could go somewhere to talk for a bit. Knowing what my answer would be, JJ asked me where I would like to go while we waited; I quickly answered "Chambers Bay."
We parked and walked to my favorite hidden spot overlooking the Bay while the sun began to set. As we stood by the railing, JJ shared a few things with me and then told me he was going to break one of our rules. Immediately, I got a bit nervous, and then he started in with "I love you," which we agreed we wouldn't say to one another until we were engaged. All the dots connected for me at that moment that JJ was proposing. He got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. I said yes as quickly as I could!
The shock from the moment lingered as we FaceTimed close family and friends and shared the exciting news with them. Little did I know that JJ had a photographer close by capturing the moment along with his mom and sister. It was a day we will never forget; you can see some of the photos from the day we got engaged in the "Photos" section.
