Like most great love stories of our time, John and mine's story begins on Tinder in August of 2023. Swiping right on each other was one of the best decisions we've both ever made. After talking nearly every day for a month, John finally asked if I would like to maybe go out for dinner sometime in September. I, of course, said yes and then moved the date up to breakfast on September 10th. John had just come off of night shift and was exhausted, but realized he wanted to see me again and asked if we could go out again the following Saturday, only to cancel on me. Luckily, he rescheduled instead of ghosting me, and by October we agreed we were exclusively dating each other. By December we had met each others' families, and on December 15th John said "I love you" first. The next few months were a whirlwind of adjusting our lives to each other and falling more in love. There were bumps, but we worked through them together and became stronger because of them. Some of the bumps made us both realize we didn't want to do life without each other. In July 2024, I came home from taking the girls to Virginia and the first place I wanted to be when I got off the plane was at John's. He was at work, but I drove straight to his house. I didn't realize at the moment, but that's where I would end up staying permanently. When I brought up possibly moving in together when school would be on Christmas break, John asked why I didn't just move in then. Anytime I said maybe I'd go stay in Duncan, he'd ask why not just stay with him. The girls and I ended up never leaving, we were officially living together. On November 17th, when we were supposed to be taking family pictures, John got down on one knee and proposed. It was one of the best days with our kids right there celebrating with us. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together supporting each other and loving each other more than more.
