Is there a dress code?
Formal. No jeans or ball caps please! The preferred dress code of the Detroit Yacht Club is coat and tie/collared shirt and a jacket with dress pants and shoes for men. Dress code for women is dresses or pantsuits and shoes.
What if I have allergies/other dietary restrictions?
Please be sure to specify when RSVPing.
Are kids invited?
We love your little ones, but we ask that you leave the kids at home, unless you see their name appear when you RSVP. Call a sitter and get ready to boogie!
Do Ubers/taxis make trips to the reception venue?
We do not recommend relying on Ubers, taxis, Lyfts, etc. to get to/from the reception venue. Drivers often avoid going to Belle Isle, so securing a ride can be unpredictable. We recommend relying on our complementary shuttle service or arranging a designated driver.
Do I need a Recreation Passport if driving to Belle Isle myself?
We recommend having it ready. If not, you may be prompted to purchase one for $14 when getting on the island.
Can I take photos at your wedding?
We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony, but encourage you to take as many as you'd like at the reception!
Can I bring a date?
Due to seating and a plated dinner selection, we are only able to accommodate those who have been formally invited. If you received a plus one, you will see their name or "and guest" when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!
What is hotel parking like?
Valet parking is available for $20 a night. Ample parking space should also be available at the Greektown Parking Garage located across the street from the entrance to the hotel. A QR code at the parking garage can be used for payment.
What is parking like at the church?
The main parking lot is currently undergoing construction but ceremony parking is available along the streets surrounding the church.
What is parking like at the reception?
There is a large lot at the entrance.
Can I leave my vehicle at the reception venue overnight?
Yes, but it must be retrieved the following day.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors. However, weather permitting, we will have access to the outdoor terrace during the reception.
What if I don't RSVP before September 27?
We will miss celebrating with you! We need to give our venue an exact headcount by a certain date. Please RSVP on time!
Will the reception bar close after cocktail hour?
Yes, the bar will be temporarily closed between 6:30 and 7:30pm to allow the bartenders to restock and move to the main bar.
