**As told by Michael**If I had to summarize our story, it could be summed into three unique words: Chance, Persistence and Trust. ChanceWhile we would love to say we met at a concert or through church - we didn't. Matter of fact, it's likely we would have never connected had it not been for the dating app, Hinge. I was already living in Nashville and living BIG in the my 900sq. ft. apartment, and Kaitlan, unbeknownst to me, was ready to start a new chapter of her life. So we matched! Quickly realizing we did indeed have a mutual friend, who after dual confirmation gave the green light that we would be a great fit! However, you can probably imagine the mixture of emotions when I learned Kaitlan was moving to Nashville in a few weeks (insert upside down smiley face). BUT thank you again technology, because it only took a couple of calls for us to realize that we connected well. We were looking forward to meeting in person. PersistenceNow you're probably thinking the persistence in our story was waiting for Kaitlan to move...but oh boy are you wrong! The day finally came for Kaitlan's big move to Nashville! She would text me updates along her stops and occasionally call when the drive became boring. Meanwhile, I was tasked with selecting the location for our first official date. A task that any man will agree has a lot of weight - too fancy and you might come off too strong, too causal and you may not seem serious. After consulting with 4 close friends, the spot was decided! Cilantro— a local staple in the non-tourist side of town known for a friendly atmosphere with good margaritas and queso....(Spoiler alert - do not take a Californian to a Mexican restaurant. I learned there is a difference between Californian Mexican and Southern Mexican.) Fast forward to the end of the date - I gave Kaitlan the FULL Nashville tour (if you have visited me in Nashville, YES the same tour with points of interest I may have showed you). There was not a doubt in my mind there would be a second date...but....I was wrong. Matter of fact that second date would not take place for over a year. TrustBeing a man of Faith, and someone who believes in a greater plan, I knew there would be a reason for not having a second date during that time. I truly believe having time between our dates was for the best for Kaitlan and I. Kaitlan needed to define herself in her new chapter of life and I was working hard, focusing on my self growth. I stayed in touch (as a friend) occasionally asking how the city was treating her, how school was going, and if she had any crazy stories from working on Broadway. Then, after long awaited months, I finally got the message I had been waiting for..."What are you doing this weekend? Could we grab a drink?" !!! So, we reconnected and HERE WE ARE. I am here to tell you, God does have a greater plan and it is GOOD! We would not be here today without the provision God had on us individually, and now, together. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you! Each of you have played an impactful role in our lives and we could not imagine this day without you!!
