Will and Kate met for the first time five years ago on their wedding date. They were introduced at Winthrop University’s homecoming by Will's high school best friend, Josh, and Kate's big from her sorority ΔΖ, Lexi. They had a great time together and decided to exchange phone numbers. Unfortunately, Will took forever to text, because he was drowning at work, but after meeting up for a few more dates and juggling the holidays, they decided to become official on January 11th.

Asheville has always been a special place for Will and Kate as it was their first trip together as a couple in March 2020, just before the COVID lockdown. They enjoyed the sights, such as Biltmore House and the beautiful mountains.

During the lockdown, they grew closer, talking and texting every day and getting creative with dates to make them special. They made picnics in the living room of Will's one bedroom apartment, cooked together making pizza and fancy dinners from scratch. They even decided to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway to have a nice lunch outside overlooking the valley to get out of the house for a bit.

As the lockdown restrictions were loosening up, they started to go out more and get back to traveling together to enjoy new foods and places. They love exploring and experiencing new things together.

Another step in Will and Kate’s journey was when they adopted their kitten, Luna. She has been their cute little fur daughter, who they spoil. She is also one of the many reasons Will decided to move in with Kate, so he would not be an absentee father.

When it was apparent that Will and Kaitlin were in it for the long haul, Kate's dad Brian made a joke that he expected Will to get him a few cows and chickens before Will asked for Kate to marry him. In 2023, Will asked Brian for his permission to marry his daughter by giving him a few stuffed animals to complete the joke.

After that, Will rushed to get the ring and have it before a trip to visit Will's sister, Catherine, in LA. Catherine helped Will plan the perfect proposal in Malibu on a cliffside beach. There was one little hiccup with the plan. The TSA pulled the bag with the ring to screen while Kate and Will were flying out and nearly gave Will a heart attack for that the surprise would be ruined. After that, the plan went without a hitch, and Kate and Will were engaged on that beautiful beach before sunset.

Kate and Will can't wait to get married and celebrate with their friends and family!
