Mikayla and Kaitlin met in the summer of 2017 working at a brand new restaurant in Turkey point and like many great friendships it started off with resentment and animosity. After parting ways only a few short months after meeting, the two reconnected in 2021 at the same restaurant after Kaitlin returned for a summer after previously parting ways with the company in 2019.  Shortly after Kaitlin had moved onto a position at the Hamilton airport and within 5 months Mikayla happened to show up there for an interview unknowingly aware Kaitlin had started there. Inseparable since, the two of them have kept their rocky history close to their hearts and bonded closely on the trauma of working at the Jetty. Mikayla (and papa Dave) was also present an involved with the proposal from Rory while on a joint trip to Nova Scotia.

Aden and Rory met in 2010 when they were the only two people to attend a game night at a new venue neither of them had attended before. Confused in a dark and quiet store basement, they played opposite each other and yet quickly brought out each others' loud and joyful nerdy warmths. They then rode that instant feeling of brotherly familiarity up to a place of special, genuine fellowship. Shared interests brought them closer together which led to hangouts at FanExpo, Square One, and adventures to try and chase down signatures in alleys from stars behind the many live theatres in Toronto. Entrenched in honest sincerity and bolstered by a silly fanaticism of fictional characters and musical performances, their friendship continues to reach new heights as Rory sports Aden as his best man.

Jaceey and Kaitlin met in grade 9 and have had a tight and close friendship for almost 19 years. So many memories of goofing around skipping classes, wild and strange birthday parties, sneaking out to go to raves or parties in downtown London (Sorry mom and dad!), hanging out in basements, the list goes on. Jaceey and Kaitlin have always lived very busy lives and even living only streets away from each other into adulthood, Jaceey and Kaitlin have always been there for each other in their big moments. From birthdays, to visiting whatever restaurant Kaitlin was working in at the time, to new years or St. Patrick day parties, they were together as often as they could. Now living several hours away from each other, Jaceey and Kaitlin still continuously keep in touch through Snap chat or Social Media always updating each others lives every single day. Kaitlin considers Jaceey her oldest and closest friend and is a huge part as to why she is still alive and well today.

Jon and Rory met when Rory transferred to the John C. Munro Hamilton international Airport in 2013. Like boats adrift on an open sea, (they were young-ish and worked with a lot of old white people) they were drawn towards each other due to their dark humour and intense intellectual cynicisms. Finding comfort in similar discomforts, their bond intensified with each conquered personal trial and trauma. Woes were drunk away at the Snooty Fox and metal concerts blasted any lingering stresses down to manageable dins. Fast food trips after work provided tasty, fried, and cheesy clarity, and their reliability for each other evolved through moves, breakups, and freak-outs. What can't shared Irish Nachos overcome?

Jon Jones

Tammy and Kaitlin met in the spring of 2020 at Hambrgr when Kaitlin was transferred to a different restaurant location in Hamilton. Quickly the two became good friends with Tammy as her go-to bar close. The two survived a year of Covid together, navigating the constant changing regulations for operation, and an overbearing upper management team. The two spent time together after work hours at a local bar enjoying paper planes and a mutual shared love of Whiskey and Bourbons. Not too long after regulations shut down restaurants completely Kaitlin was fired from her position, but the two kept in touch all these years after. With hangouts, sushi dinners, and a deep passion for social justice and media literacy, Tammy and Kaitlin continued to grow their friendship. With having the absolute pleasure of watching her previous bar-closer and drinking buddy become an incredible and wonderful mother to a gorgeous little boy. Kaitlin and Tammy have remained great friends despite not seeing each other as often as they would like but continue to keep each other updated on their lives and troubles every single day. 

Tammy Fletcher

Tony and Kaitlin met in 2015 while working together at Beertown in London. Both fresh out of culinary school at Fanshawe, the two share wild and boisterous personalities and a deep passion for the food industry and bonded almost immediately.  Since then they have bounced around London's rolodex of restaurants together, each recruiting one another when starting at new places. From insane rundown fronted bars, to working together in opening a new restaurant, to hiring each other for odd jobs where every they were that needed help. The two of them spent many nights together in London's downtown life (Sunday/Monday Karaoke at Molly Blooms! and Wine Wednesdays at McCabes every week!)and spent most days together just hanging out, or going on nighttime adventures. Kaitlin and Tony have kept their friendships so close over the last decade despite having varying belief systems and love each other unconditionally. Tony is also the named god father to Kaitlin's family dog Renly and jokes that he will fight her dad one day to claim the title; he is a part of the family.

Tony was present and helped encourage Kaitlin to "Swipe Right" on Rory while the two of them were drinking in her moms basement, and he was present when Kaitlin drunkenly shared the first "I love you" to Rory on a camping trip.
Tony has loved Rory like a brother the same way he has loved Kaitlin and is considered part of their family and is a big part in their love story.  

Tony Farrow

Kaitlin and Rachel met in their first year together in University in the summer of 2021. Bonded in their passion for social change the two of them clicked almost immediately in their online class. They decided shortly after that to meet up in a study area for the first time and had immediate trauma bonding when someone we suspected was a professor barged into the study lounge and proceeded to scream at all in the room for drinking water and chatting (it was still covid regulations at the time) despite everyone remaining 6ft apart. After this insane first impression on what University life is like for people in their Thirties, a wonderful friendship was cultivated. After both were accepted into the School of Social Work Rachel introduced Kaitlin to another friend Meaghan who was also in our programme the three of them became an inseparable team. 

Kaitlin and Rory asked Rachel to officiate their ceremony due to Rachels kind, charismatic and compassionate nature. Though her friendship with the couple has been short, the impact Rachel has on everyone she meets made a lasting impression. Rory and Kaitlin are over the moon to have her involved with their union and could not see a better fit for the job.

Registry

Located at the ceremony space, Chiefswood park has upscale camping cabins for rent. They vary from the small 1-2 person "Glamping" cabins for $125 per night, to a small wood cabin that sleeps up to 1-5 for $270 per night, and a large luxury cabin that sleeps up to 8 for 300 per night. Located less than a Km from The Gathering Place reception.
