Nick and Kaitlin were introduced by Brodie Tirone (who took the picture above) on a Friday the 13th in 2019. Nick was visiting Connecticut from South Carolina, where he lived at the time. The two instantly hit it off and ended up talking all night. Since Nick lived in SC, he asked Kaitlin to go out with him a few hours before his flight left. They went to a local Hebron restaurant called Gina Marie's for breakfast. They stayed for hours and knew something great was beginning to happen.

Over the next couple of months, Nick and Kaitlin kept in touch. They called and texted frequently, getting to know one another. When Nick came to visit CT, they made the best of their time together. Nick asked Kaitlin to be his girlfriend on November 17, 2019. Soon after Christmas of that same year, Nick moved back to CT.

Their relationship flourished as they spent time together on hikes, playing disc golf, going to family events, hanging out with friends, camping, church, and more. Over the next year and a half, Nick and Kaitlin stuck together through the good and hard times.

After church, on July 3, 2022 Nick and Kaitlin went out for breakfast. They went to Gina Marie's just like they did on their first date. When they had finished eating, the waitress came out with another plate that said "Marry me?" in syrup. Nick got down on one knee and asked Kaitlin to spend the rest of their lives together- and she said yes!
