Our story begins at East Carolina University, where we both attended but never crossed paths. It wasn't until after graduation that fate stepped in. Both of us moved to the bustling city of New York, where we finally met through the dating app Hinge. Kaitlin noticed that Dean had attended the same university and decided to reach out. That one message changed our lives forever.

At the time, Kaitlin was living in Hoboken, NJ, with her dog Skyler. Despite the distance and a heavy downpour, she decided to cross state lines to meet Dean for their first date. Unsure if the date was still on due to the weather, Kaitlin texted Dean. His reply was simple and confident: "Rain or shine." That night, amidst the rain, we found an instant connection that has only grown stronger with time.

Fast forward five wonderful years, and Dean planned a special surprise. On a rainy Saturday, he led Kaitlin into Central Park, a place filled with memories of their adventures in New York. As the rain fell around them, Dean got down on one knee and asked, "Rain or shine, will you be mine?" Kaitlin said yes, and our journey took a beautiful turn. Now, we are happily settled in Raleigh, NC, with our two dogs, Skyler and Finn.
