Kaitlin and David both attended Mary Bryan Elementary School, so they were always in each others’ circle growing up. While David had a crush on Kaitlin throughout high school, she saw him as a friend of a friend. Post-college, they started going to the same friends’ gatherings and Kaitlin realized her feelings were mutual. With the help of liquid courage, she told a mutual friend how she felt at a Jimmy Buffett concert. David then nervously approached Kaitlin at Tin Roof a month or so later, and the two started dating long-distance while Kaitlin was living in Chicago. She moved back to Indianapolis after about a year, and David proposed on April 27, 2024.
