Our Wedding

We first met at Kansas state university playing basketball at the rec. Corben dunked on Kaitlyn during a game of knockout (which I believe is illegal). We played rec basketball together and often went to the court to shoot around and play games with our friends. Kaitlyn taught Corben many infuriating board and group games. We were friends for years before we started dating in 2022.

First met… 

In May of 2023 Corben bought a house that we renovated together (with the help of Mike and Jerad). We created a separate basement unit and started renting it to college students, while we lived upstairs. We painted every wall (and some ceilings) and Kaitlyn never wanted to pick up a paint brush ever again. The house had a nice backyard for Zookie, Kaitlyn's childhood dog that had come to live in Kansas with her the previous year.

Corben bought a house and we moved in together 

In April of 2024 we brought home Bean Sprout, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. She was the cutest little fluff and would grow up to be a hunting companion for Corben as well as an obedience and dock diving dabbler with Kaitlyn.

Enter Sprout... 

In May of 2024 Corben graduated with his Masters in Biological Systems Engineering and Kaitlyn graduated with her long-awaited Bachelor of Veterinary Science after two years of veterinary school.

Graduation 

We got engaged on a cross country road trip from Kansas to Indiana to New Hampshire to Maine (where we got engaged) to Maryland to North Carolina back to Kansas. We got engaged on the coast of Maine in Acadia National park at sunrise.Kaitlyn had no idea... until Corben to told her the night before he was going to wear his "nice pants" to the sunrise in the morning and that she should "not dress like a hobo".

Wear something you feel confident and beautiful in... oh and wear your dancing shoes! Sundresses for the ladies and khakis for the men are perfectly okay! It's recommended to bring a jacket or shawl as the evenings can get chilly in the mountains.

Q + A

Winter park is the nearest larger town with lots of accommodations, restaurants and things to do.

The Denver airport is closest but it is still about a 2hr 30min drive into the mountains to get to Fraser... don't worry, the drive is gorgeous!

We do not have a hotel block but here are numerous cute and cozy Airbnb's, VRBOs and hotels in both Fraser and Winter park that would be perfect for a long weekend in the mountains.
