Our Wedding

On the second weekend of June in 2022, Dalton and Kaitlyn were living their separate lives when one Friday evening they soon would cross paths without even knowing it. Dalton was in Deadwood, South Dakota for his cousins Bachelor party weekend. He was hanging with the boys going to the Professional Bull Riding or PBR and then out for drinks at the Bodega. Kaitlyn had just arrived to Sundance, Wyoming the night before with two of her college girlfriends with plans to go to Deadwood, South Dakota for the PBR event and a fun weekend after just graduating Nursing School a few weeks earlier. And so they drive back into town that Friday afternoon and spent the day exploring Deadwood and enjoying the PBR event where they would later end up at the Bodega for some drinks and Karaoke. Kaitlyn took her chance to do her go-to karaoke performance: Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A-Lot. As you can imagine this won the crowd over. Enough so that one of the guys Dalton was with on the Bachelor trip wanted to sing a duet with Kaitlyn. She agreed and so they went up and sang Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. While singing, Dalton was front and center recording the glass shattering duet. Upon finishing singing, Kaitlyn wanted that video that Dalton took. So she hopped down and walked up to Dalton and asked him to send it to her. Dalton got Kaitlyn’s Snapchat and sent the video, that was that.

Part 1. Deadwood, South Dakota

After Kaitlyn and Dalton’s paths crossed in Deadwood, South Dakota neither of them thought much of it. They had only conversed for a few minutes that night and then both went their separate directions with their respective friends they were with. About a week or two after the weekend in Deadwood, Kaitlyn posted a Snapchat story at ‘Thursdays on First’- Rochester, Minnesota’s weekly street fair in the summer where she now currently lived. With now being friends on Snapchat from Deadwood, Dalton saw her story and replied to it asking “What are you doing in Rochester? Didn’t I meet you in Deadwood?” Kaitlyn responded with “yes, I live here”. Dalton, shocked at the response replied “No way, I do too” Kaitlyn had a short response of “so cool” and Dalton responded but Kaitlyn left the conversation on Open and did not reply to poor old Dalton.

Part 2. Snapchat

Fast forward to August of 2022, two months have passed since Kaitlyn and Daltons lives crossed for the first time back in Deadwood. Kaitlyn had been studying hard for her NCLEX test to become a Registered Nurse and her test was coming up in the next two weeks. Her college friends wanted her to take a slight break from studying and enjoy herself before her test. They came down for one of the Thursdays on First street fairs and all decided to go to Kathy’s Pub because it started to rain outside. Dalton had been working as an Iron Worker apprentice. Him and his coworker and a few of his friends also decided to go to Thursdays on first that night. They too ended up at Kathy’s once it started to rain. They were playing Pool at the pool tables. Kaitlyn and her friends walk in and get a drink and decide to go stand and watch all these guys play pool. The bar was packed due to the rain. While Kaitlyn and her friends were observing pool, Kaitlyn couldn’t help but notice how cute this one guy was with dark hair and some scruff. She stared at him making eye contact then he looked away but without a doubt looked back. Kaitlyn never broke that eye contact. She was interested. Dalton being shy didn’t take the hint until his friend nudged him and said that blonde is staring at you. Go talk to her. Dalton and Kaitlyn then started having some small talk and banter. Kaitlyn and one of her friends called to play winners of this pool game in hopes Dalton would win and they could play against each other. They indeed Lost. Dalton and his friend recommended we went and played darts instead. Kaitlyn and her friend agreed. While playing darts, Dalton brought up how he recognized Kaitlyn and swore he knew her from somewhere. Kaitlyn being the sass that she is said “No you don’t know me, I just moved here. Nobody knows me here”. Dalton insisted he did but we left it at that. We continued to talk occasionally throughout the night at different times and then both went to The Crave. At the Crave, Dalton and Kaitlyn took a selfie and Kaitlyn saved it to daltons phone. Time went on and they never exchanged numbers or contact information that night. The next morning, Kaitlyn woke up to a Snapchat txt from the guy she met in Deadwood, South Dakota named Dalton. At that moment she remembered that he had said he lived in Rochester as well. This guy from Deadwood had the SAME NAME as the guy she met the previous night at Kathy’s. All the message said from Dalton was “hey”. Kaitlyn put two and two together and responded with “did I just meet you again last night?” Daltons response was “yes! I woke up this morning and remembered your name and it clicked. I met you in deadwood. I have a video of you singing on my phone” After that, the rest is history. They went on their First Date at Five West and continued dating ever since. They now have a dog and two cats together and cannot wait to continue to grow their family!

We will have a Yellow Lorenz School Bus that will Pick up at the Casino at 3:15pm and drop off at Venue prior to ceremony. There will be a bus returning at 10pm and 12am from the venue to the Casino hotel. The Grand Hinkley Inn is walking distance across the parking lot to the bus as well.

Bus Transportation- Grand Casino/ Grand Hinkley Inn

This hotel is in the Parking Lot of the Grand Casino- this is Significantly cheaper than the casino hotel as of now. The Bus will still be at the Casino as of now but this is a great option and walking distance to the bus pick up and drop off.

We will have a Bus providing transportation to and from before the wedding and after.Rates are subject to change- waiting to hear back from them for a room block. They are trying to book an event and if that doesn’t happen- price should get better.
