Bridesmaids

Abigail Eplin
Abigail Eplin - Maid of Honor
Kaitlyn is my best friend and sister. We met on the first day of classes freshman year at UK after she strolled into our HON 101 class (late) and I immediately began showing her pictures of my dog (which confused her but successfully bonded us immediately). After five years of growing alongside each other, Kaitlyn has gone from a friend to family. The Lord was kind in giving us this friendship and I know we will always be laughing together and leaning on each other. -Abby

Kaitlyn and I met on a hike during K week where we connected over our love for Jesus and the outdoors. -Elizabeth

Kaitlyn and I met in middle school when I joined the cross country team. We quickly formed a close, hilarious, lasting friendship! - Kaitlin
Sarah Carr
Sarah Carr - Bridesmaid
I actually met Kaitlyn through Jake! Jake and I have been friends since my freshman year and he wanted Kaitlyn and I to be friends. Kaitlyn's first words to me were, "Thanks for letting me yeet my friendship at you!" Little did I know, that quirky phrase would mark the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Fast forward to today, we're not just roommates but great friends. I'll always be grateful that she "yeeted" her friendship my way. -Sarah
Kate Gray
Kate Gray - Bridesmaid
I met Kaitlyn in college at a time when I needed a friend. She wasn’t shy about wanting to be my friend and faithfully poured into and invested in me. We’ve walked with each other through the good and bad, and I’m thankful to have gotten to be by her side through her relationship with Jake from day one! - Kate
Violet Shackleford
Violet Shackleford - Bridesmaid
I’m Jake’s sister, and I met Kaitlyn when we all celebrated their college graduation together! I noticed immediately how sweet and kind she was. It’s awesome to see their relationship grow and flourish. We are excited to welcome her into our family! - Violet

Austin Hirtzel
Austin Hirtzel - Best Man
I honestly can’t imagine where I’d be without Jake in my life. He has helped me through life’s struggles and faith since I’ve been a Christian. We really have an understanding of each other in ways too deep to explain in a short message like this. I feel like I’m starting a new chapter in my life because Jake and I won’t be living together anymore. I’m going to miss going 10 steps to the other room to sit with my best friend and talk about theology, life, prayer and everything in between. I love you Jake. - Austin
Ian Metzgar
Ian Metzgar - Groomsman
I met Jake the first week of college and became quick friends with “the banjo guy.” We then struggled through chemical engineering together and lived together for two years. I love Jake for pushing me closer to Christ in college and sharing with me his love of bourbon, bluegrass, and the Bible. - Ian
Cam Brewer

I met Jake at Murray State in the Governor’s Scholars Program. Since the day I met him, Jake has shown me a dedicated love that calls me alongside him into deeper pursuit of Christ and His Church. - Cam
Jack Comerford
Jack Comerford - Groomsman
Jake and I met during my first week of college. Cam actually introduced him to me - now we both get to be in his wedding! Our friendship has blossomed into something beautiful since then. I would credit most of the growth to our shared love of smoked tobacco, great jazz, and (of course) God. - Jack
Eli Acree

Me and Jake grew up going to church together. I’ve known him my entire life, and he’s never changed once. We’ve spent countless hours talking about Christ, memories we have together, and playing bluegrass every chance we get. Jake has been my closest friend for my entire life, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. - Eli
Caleb "Duke" Erikson

I first met Jake when I was 15 years old at Bill Monroe’s bluegrass festival in Bean Blossom, IN. I could go on and on about all the shenanigans that ensued in that first weekend we met, but let’s just say it was very memorable and we have been best of buds ever since. Jake is one of the truest friends and musical partners I know and I’m extremely thankful our friendship. I’m proud of you, hoss. Lots of luck to you and Kaitlyn! - Duke
