Our Wedding

It all started almost five years ago when we quickly realized that even though we were an hour apart in two different states, we had something special. Kaitlyn, the self-proclaimed planner who loves a good to-do list, and Brian, the outdoorsy adventurer who is always up for a last minute trip into the woods, might seem like total opposites, but somehow it just worked. From the beginning, we made it a point to make time for each other—whether it was long-distance drives, weekend visits, or road trips, we always made the effort to stay close, no matter the distance. Over time, that effort turned into something much deeper. Over the years, we’ve traveled across the U.S. and explored different countries together, checking off bucket list items and creating memories in places near and far. Whether it was hiking through national parks or wandering through foreign cities, we learned to appreciate each other’s strengths and quirks (we have a lot of quirks).After years of adventures, we took the next big step and moved to Maryland together, ready to start a new chapter. And as luck would have it, our wedding day—July 12th—will mark the five-year anniversary of the day we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. It’s a full-circle moment that feels just right. Now, we’re excited for the next chapter and all the adventures life has in store. We can’t wait to continue this journey together—side by side, through all the highs, the lows, and everything in between. We’re so excited to celebrate our special day with you in beautiful Aurora, New York! The venue is easily accessible by car, whether you’re coming from nearby cities or farther away. The closest major airport is Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR), about an hour drive to Aurora, and 40 minutes to Auburn. For those flying into the area, rental cars are available at the airport for your convenience. Both of our selected hotels offer ample parking and are easily accessible by car, making travel simple and stress-free. If you're driving from other nearby cities and states, the trip to Aurora is a scenic and straightforward drive. We recommend using Google Maps or your preferred navigation app to find the best route. If you have any questions or need additional travel tips, don’t hesitate to reach out! ACCOMODATIONS IN AURORA

The small village of Aurora is located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, and is where our wedding will be held. Aurora offers a peaceful, scenic environment with opportunities for boating, wine tasting, and exploring local history and nature trails.

ACOMMODATIONS IN AUBURN

Auburn, New York is located approximately 20 minutes northeast of Aurora. The town offers a delightful mix of rich history, scenic beauty, and local attractions. Auburn's central location offers the opportunity to not only explore the Finger Lakes scenery near Aurora, but also the small-town setting of nearby Skaneateles as well.

The Holiday Inn in Auburn offers both one and two night accommodation options. To make a reservation, please call and reference the Gerber/Nyffenegger Wedding.

For our guests traveling from Auburn to Aurora on the evening of the wedding, we will provide transportation to make your evening as smooth and stress-free as possible. Shuttles will be available to take you from Auburn to Aurora, ensuring you can enjoy the celebration without worrying about getting home. More details on pickup times and locations will be provided closer to the big day.

Shuttle Service for Wedding Day

For Guests Staying at the Holiday Inn in Auburn

Shuttle will depart the Holiday Inn in Auburn at 4:00 p.m. to drop off guests at The Inns of Aurora.Shuttle will depart The Inns of Aurora at 11:00 p.m. to return guests to the Holiday Inn in Auburn.Shuttle service will not be available after 11:00 p.m.

For Guests Staying at Airbnbs in Aurora

From 4:30 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. the shuttle will collect guests residing at various Airbnb’s or alternate housing in Aurora to drop off at The Inns of Aurora. Shuttle service will have been communicated by Kaitlyn or Sharon Gerber to confirm timing.As guests require, shuttle will be available to drop off at their Aurora accommodations from 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Shuttle will be located at the main entrance of the Inns of Aurora.Shuttle service will not be available after 10:45 p.m.

For Guests Staying at the Inns of Aurora or Walcourt Hall

Shuttle service is not required for guests staying at the Inns of Aurora or Walcourt Hall. Accommodations are within a very short walk of the wedding venue and after party.
