Kaitlyn was dog sitting for her neighbors and had been on a dating app called Bumble with no luck. She was ready to delete the app, but without even scrolling one October night in 2022 she came across the most handsome man she’s ever seen. IMMEDIATELY she swiped right and took her shot with a simple “Hey Handsome”.

On the other side of town, Austin’s friends encouraged him to download this app too, because why not? He too had no luck, but when he saw Kaitlyn’s profile his reaction was the same to IMMEDIATELY swipe right, but here’s the catch, the woman had to message 1st, so he then received the silly message that changed their lives.

They soon had their first date, playing mini golf and going to an arcade bar in Beacon, New York.

Austin was set to go to Texas for a work trip four days after their first date and that is the trip where they both learned that distance does make the heart grow fonder. After only spending a few days together, they immediately knew that they were meant to be and started dating on October 10, 2022.

Fast-forward to September 2024 , they decided to go on their 1st real vacation in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Kaitlyn has had her suspicions but wasn’t sure, and Austin had been planning since August 2024. Upon arrival in room 404, Austin got down on one knee and asked Kaitlyn to spend the rest of his life with him. It was intimate, peaceful and surprising, all the things Kaitlyn had hoped for. They celebrated with a few days on the beach, then decided that they wanted to celebrate with their families and most importantly their fur-baby/dog, Jasper!
