Our love story kicked off with a hilarious dad joke about the birthplace of fries (i.e. "Grease") back in January 2019. It all began when we matched on the dating app, Hinge, at the start of the year. Despite some great initial conversations, Katie got swamped with work during her busy season and accidentally missed Andrew's first invitation for a date. Katie calls it forgetting, while Andrew jokingly claims he was "ghosted" - a matter of perspective, really! Nevertheless, Andrew's patience paid off, and he mustered up the courage to ask again. The eve of our first date, Katie fell ill with a bad cold. Anxious that canceling might be misconstrued as "ghosting", Katie made it to the Billy Club, a quaint cocktail bar on Allen Street in Buffalo, NY. That evening, over cocktails, darts, and Advil Cold & Flu, we hit it off splendidly. After that unforgettable first date, we both sensed something extraordinary blossoming between us. Soon after, with the encouragement of green beer, Andrew officially asked Katie to be his girlfriend on St. Patrick's Day. From that moment on, we've spent the last five years immersed in laughter, growth, and countless soccer matches. We've settled into our cozy apartment in Buffalo, embarked on adventures to new destinations, and welcomed our fur baby, Rooney, into our lives.
