Our love story began early in 2016, when Danny was a senior and Katie was a sophomore in Pequannock Township High School. He messaged her one night without knowing that she had a crush on him, and the rest was history. Our first date was at the most luxurious place, Wendy's, which was Katie's suggestion by the way. We dated for a few months before we attended Danny's senior prom. Over that summer Danny went off to NJIT, and we parted ways for a few months. 
Early 2017, we rekindled our friendship and began dating again. Between both of our crazy schedules, and with Danny being at school, we managed to spend all of our free time Skyping, texting, and going to visit one another. Katie began her senior year of high school and Danny began a program to become a Respiratory Therapist. This time around, Katie asked Danny to her senior prom in 2018. 
Katie then went off to college at Stockton University and Danny finished up his last year in the Respiratory Therapy program. We were dating long distance....... again. Any breaks from school were spent with each other, and we continued to grow stronger together knowing that we could do long distance. We saw each other every 2 weeks until Katie’s summer break. 
Katie went back to school at the end of the summer for her sophomore year and Danny began his job hunt. The day before Katie left for school, our family grew. Danny adopted our sweet angel baby boy Brady. We were back to long distance and now we had our cute pup to take care of. 
COVID hit and Katie came back home to finish the rest of her sophomore year online. In a way, this time was a blessing for us because we got to be closer to each other and spend more time together. We had many adventures throughout this time, trying to entertain ourselves while the world was shut down. Katie finished her undergrad degree, online, and Danny started working for PSEG in 2021. 
That summer Katie started school at Jefferson University for her masters degree in Physician Assistant studies……. and we were back to long distance, again. We did everything we could to see each other as much as possible while Katie was in grad school. From July 2021 - July 2023, we saw each other almost every other weekend, but Katie’s school schedule was very intense and did not offer much time off.
Right after Katie finished up her school in July 2023, she went on a trip to Cancun with her parents, brother, and brother’s girlfriend, Courtney. Danny told her that he wasn’t able to join them on the trip because he could not get off of work, and the plane tickets were too expensive. Katie invited her friends from graduate school, Lauren and Tara, as well, and both of them told her that they could not afford the ticket for 3 days of vacation. Katie understood, as the tickets were expensive and we would only be there for 3 days. Little did Katie know, Danny had been planning to surprise her in Cancun with a proposal. The day that Katie landed in Cancun, her mom told her that she needed to get ready for a photo shoot on the beach after dinner. This was not unusual as the timeshare offered free photo shoots for sitting through their sales pitch, and Katie’s family had done this before. She was reluctant to do so, as this was her first real break from school and all she wanted to do was relax. Courtney convinced her to get ready, and when Katie got down to the beach, she saw Danny waiting for her by the water. Surprise…. She said yes!! Danny then surprised her again by bringing out her friends, Lauren and Morgan and their boyfriends. Katie had absolutely no idea that any of this was even in the works, and was absolutely 100% surprised by this proposal. It was so perfect, it is a day that we wish we could relive over and over again. The rest of the vacation was spent celebrating our engagement, and relaxing from finishing school.
Our trip back home brought us back to reality. Katie graduated from school, passed her boards and got a job, and we began to lightly browse the house market. In early 2024, we closed on our first home and moved in, and are now living together!
