Camden and Katie met in December 2011 on a Trail Mix camping trip in San Diego, CA to ring in the New Year. Years went by, and in 2015 they crossed paths again. The Rutter's and Cunningham-Robison family planned a trip to the Colorado River and Sedona for the week of July 4th. Camden had come to a few of Katie's soccer tournaments before the trip with the Cunninghams. Over the trip, Camden and Katie started to really fall for each other. Just 24 days after confessing their feelings, Camden messaged Kaitlyn's mom, April, asking for permission for him and Kaitlyn to start dating. On July 30, 2015, Kaitlyn and her family went to concert in the park in Garden Grove, which was their weekly tradition. This was where Camden would ask her to be his girlfriend. The couple dated all throughout high school, going to every school dance together. The two were only able to spend time together one to two times a week for the first four years of their relationship, but they made every second count. With the help of their families, the two were able to see each other every opportunity they had until they got their driver's license. In 2018, Camden graduated from Pacifica High School, and started college at Golden West Community College, where he would receive 3 associate degrees. In 2019, Kaitlyn graduated from La Habra High School and began attending Fullerton College, Cypress College, Orange Coast College, and Golden West College and received her AA. Kaitlyn then went on to receive her BS in just 3 months from Purdue University Global. Camden and Kaitlyn were each other's biggest fans and strongest supporters. They both worked full time while attending school and growing their relationship. The two knew very early on that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and had been mutually communicated after just a few months of dating. After graduating college, the conversation of a proposal, marriage, and a future family had been talked about often. In April 2023, Camden took a leap of faith and performed a weld test for a company in Phoenix, Arizona. He was offered the job on the spot and Kaitlyn could not be more excited. Arizona had been the state that they had seen themselves moving to for years. In early May 2023, Camden made the move from Southern California to Arizona where he would live for 3 weeks while apartment searching and adjusting to his new job. Kaitlyn then made the move to Phoenix with their cat, Cheeto, her amazing parents, and two cars completely filled with all of her things. They got settled in their new place and adjusted to living on their own. On July 30, 2023, they celebrated their 8-year anniversary on a Carnival cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. The morning of their anniversary, they got up to watch the sunrise, ordered room service, and sat on the balcony enjoying the fresh air and beautiful view. Right after they took their first sips of coffee, Camden told Kaitlyn he had gotten her a gift even though they had agreed to not exchange gifts this anniversary. He then got down on one knee and asked her "Will you marry me?" And of course....
SHE SAID YES!!!
