Our Wedding

The start of our relationship began during our sophomore year of high school. It was under the lights during a men's varsity soccer game. Justin was a ball boy and I was in the stands. I wanted to talk to Justin for a while. He was in the same circle of friends as me but we had never spoken before. Everyone had expressed to me that Justin was very shy, therefore, I would have to be the one to initiate conversation. So, after the referee blew the half-time whistle, I started down the steps of the stadium. I had no plan and was absolutely terrified. Noticing that we had the same soccer number (#22), my very first words to him were, "Nice number." Super clever...I know. Never-the-less, our story began. The majority of the "wooing" was done by me and, let me tell you, Justin did NOT make it easy. After he finally decided to give me a chance, it was truly beautiful. The longer we were together, the more commonalities we discovered. It was a little frightening how much we actually had in common: same soccer number, lake houses on the very same lake, birthdays that were eight days apart, etc. As high school came to an end, there was no question at all of whether or not long distance was worth it. We would make it work no matter what. Justin stayed local and attended the University of Michigan, while I went away to Grand Valley State University. The distance was never easy but it truly did make us stronger as a couple. At this point in our story, I was sure that I wanted to marry Justin. On August 16, 2014, Justin asked me to marry him and made me the happiest girl in the world.

Lia has been one of my role models since day one. We share so much together and I am so blessed to have her in my life. Fun fact: I started playing soccer because of Lia and, in fact, I chose to be #22 because that was her number!!

Brad's house was always the place to be back in high school. Kaitlyn and I share many memories there including (as some of you may know) our first kiss! Kaitlyn and I are thankful to still be living close to Brad in Cincinnati, OH because you're always in for a fun time when you hang out with him.

I have always wanted a sister and I really lucked out with the one that I am gaining. Goofy, down to earth, and an all around fantastic person. I can't wait for the memories that we are going to make together!

Janine is the girl that constantly reminds me of what it means to live a successful life. Whether it was six years ago when she pushed me to get the grades I was capable of or in college when she pushed me out of my comfort zone and made sure that I had more memories than just the stuffy atmosphere of my dorm room. Without her, I honestly do not know who I would be.

Wach Zalega is what I like to call him. Probably the best soccer player to come out of our graduating class (besides me obviously). This dude is a stud.

Ryan has been one of my best friends for a long time. I mean we go way back, like back to kindergarten (in Mrs. Raft's class), which is awesome!

Caleb and I met while working as interns at Ethicon, and became friends almost instantly when we realized that we both had the same hobbies. He's just a good guy, and by far one of the easiest people that I know to get along with

When I first met Josh and I found out that we had lakehouses on Lake LeAnn, I knew we were in for a good ride. I'm so thankful for all of the memories I have from hanging out at the lake with Josh and our friends.
