Aaron and Kaitlynn met in the library of their high school.

Aaron and Kaitlynn planned a week vacation to spend time with Aaron’s grandmother “Honey” at her summer camper near Lake Michigan. Little did Kaitlynn know, Aaron had been looking forward to this vacation for months. Aaron asked Honey about rings, received a family heirloom, and headed off to ask Kaitlynn’s dad for permission. Once Rob gave the green light, Aaron’s plan started coming together perfectly. Aaron and Kaitlynn went to the campgrounds private beach to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan alone. While sitting it two wooden chairs on the edge of the beach admiring the gorgeous view, Aaron expressed his love for his best friend. While talking to Kaitlynn, he stood up to face her, got down on both knees, pulled out a ring box, and and asked her if she would marry him. Once he was in front of her, Kaitlynn was already crying and said “oh my gosh, YES! Absolutely!”

“Honey” Val and “Papa” Fred passed a very sentimental heirloom to Aaron. This heirloom being the engagement ring and wedding band he would give to Kaitlynn when he proposed.

Aaron and Kaitlynn have been best friends since that one fateful day in their high school library 8 years ago. Kaitlynn and Aaron had an instant connection and understood each other in a way no one else could. They spent every weekend at “Nana” Diane’s playing D&D with their closest friends Joey and Cristian. Kaitlynn started Early College and lost connection with her friends for a little while. Aaron and Joey graduated and Aaron got a job which kept him away some weekends. After a while, the friends weren’t able to hang out as much and Kaitlynn lost connection with most of them besides running into them a few times and occasional messages. One day, Aaron and Kaitlynn started talking after a year of lost connection. They found they were both newly single and after hanging out, Aaron bravely shared his longtime feelings for Kaitlynn. To his surprise, Kaitlynn felt the same way, so they agreed to give a relationship a shot. It was awkward and rocky at first, and Kaitlynn even panicked and broke up with him after only a week! They were still inseparable as best friends, and after another two months of hanging out and clearing her head, Kaitlynn wanted to give it another chance. On Halloween of 2021, Kaitlynn and Aaron started their relationship again and have been together ever since!
