Kaity and Nate met via Hinge, a dating app, in January of 2021. Hinge is an app where both people have to "like" each other in order to begin a conversation.

Kaity was up one night going through her likes when she came across a "Nate, 26". His profile picture was him as a football player at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Kaity swiped yes to "Nate" and it popped up saying they were a match!

Kaity always had a habit of letting the guy make the first move, and Nate sure did. His opening line was "Hey", that's it, "Hey".

Usually Kaity would be reluctant to reply to something so simple, but figured she'd give him a chance. Shortly after responding, their first conversation included how they loved Seinfeld, baseball, and sports in general.

After a couple days of talking, Nate asked if Kaity wanted to go grab dinner or something after he got off of work. The two agreed on going to Carrabba's.

Kaity told her mom about the date and how she was nervous about going on a date with a complete stranger from the internet (because she watches too much true crime), something she's never actually done, even though she's used dating apps before. Kaity shared her phone's location with her mom and agreed to keep her updated on what was going on. Kaity also told her best friend Dani about the date and said Kaity could use her as a scape goat in case the date was going south.

Nate pulled into her drive way and texted Kaity saying he was coming up to the door and he would say "Hi" to her parents and she said no to that, since it was just a first date.

Kaity walked out to Nate's bright red company pick up truck and he got the door for her, something that no date has done for her before.

Nate was still in his work clothes and the truck was a bit messy, a pretty normal dude she thought. Kaity spent an hour or so getting ready, so she felt pretty overdressed.

The two pulled into the Carrabba's parking lot and parked in a spot facing the new Lou Malnati's take out restaurant. Kaity mentioned to Nate how much she liked their pizza, and Nate said the Lou Malnati's in Brookfield is open. To Kaity's surprise she said "Oh wow, really? I had no idea!" Nate replied with asking if she wanted to go there instead. Kaity said no, that it's fine and we can stay here and Nate insisted that since it's her favorite, why don't they go there.

The two drove to Brookfield to their First Date spot of Lou Malnati's. The two were talking the whole dinner and really hit things off, Kaity was a bit embarrassed because while Nate was telling her about his day and things he enjoys, she scarfed down 3 pieces of deep dish pizza before Nate finished his first one.

After dinner, Nate got Kaity's door again (awe), and proceeded to drive her home. The two drove by Kopp's Frozen Custard and their flavor of the day was Grasshopper Fudge, Kaity's favorite. Nate asked if she wanted to stop for an after dinner snack. That night Nate asked Kaity if he could give her a kiss, and her reply was an easy "yes".

The two enjoyed their ice cream in Nate's car and Nate took her home and walked her to the door and said, "I'll text you when I get home."

Kaity and Nate would go on to hang out with each other almost every day and weekend. After work, Nate would drive up 84th St. to go hang out with Kaity and her parents and watch movies, go get dinner for the two of them, or eat Yoda's tater tot casserole, one of Nate's favorites.

At Kaity's house, Nate would slowly become the favorite amongst them all, including her dearest pet, Dustin, aka "Hot Dog".

Kaity would go and stay by Nate on weekends where she would hang out with Nate's best friend Aaron. He would then tell Nate one day, he "approves" of Kaity, "not that [Nate] would need it though".

Here, Kaity would play with the guy's two cats, Captain and Paxton. The three would go to Carlee's bar in Pewaukee, where the guys lived, and watch movies and go out to eat together.

On February 19th, 2021, Nate and Kaity went to Fleming's for a fancy date night. Nate picked Kaity up from her parent's house after work and Kaity was anxiously waiting by the window waiting for Nate when she saw him pull up.

He got out of his truck and she thought he was coming to the door, but instead he pulled out a suit coat from the back seat and proceeded to change in her drive way before texting her and coming to the door.

They had a great night, and they went back to Nate and Aaron's place where later that night he would ask Kaity if she would like to be his girlfriend. Again, another easy yes.

Nate and Kaity were only dating for about 6 months before they started talking about moving in with each other. Kaity would sit on Zillow and look for condos and show Nate.

They reached out to a realtor and got to looking at condos. They looked at about 10 different places, including one condo in Franklin, it had the "Seinfeld cabinet kitchen" (IYKYK), and when leaving, Nate went to lean on the banister outside and it snapped right under him.

Eventually, one day they found a condo that was reasonably priced and in a good area. It wasn't exactly what they wanted in a home, but it was a starter home and Nate assured Kaity they can do some renovations and fix it up to how they want. They went to go look at it and they really liked it. Nate decided to put in an offer and on July 13, 2021, their offer was accepted.

They moved in two months later and officially began their journey together.

Kaity is known for her love of animals, especially dogs. She kept telling Nate that when they move in together she wants to get a dog. Even though they have a cat, which Kaity is severely allergic to lol, Nate agreed to get a dog.

Kaity was inquiring about all types of dogs from various shelters and rescues. She came across one rescue with a new and unexpected litter of puppies.

She inquired about one in particular and the owner of the rescue stated that that specific dog was already in the process of being adopted, and if she would be interested in another one of the dogs. Kaity agreed to look at some others and one caught her eye, Dopey.

Nate and Kaity asked to go meet this dog before adopting him, and it was (kind of) love at first sight.

Dopey really wanted nothing to do with Nate and Kaity when they first got to the foster house. The 8 week old puppy was more concerned about wanting to go back into the house to play with his friends.

Nate and Kaity truly fell in love with the little man and agreed to adopt him. They filled out some documents and decided on a name.

Perkins.

He would grow to be known as their little "shark" with how he would bite and "attack" their feet. Nate and Kaity are known for throwing the little man the best birthday parties and making sure he's always dressed to impress with his bandanas and clothes.

Kaity and Nate planned a trip down to Chicago in early February 2023. Nate and Kaity got Kaity's parents tickets to go see Adam Sandler live, a long time family favorite. Nate told Kaity that he's planning a whole weekend for them and it'll be really fun. Nate hates going to Chicago, so he told Kaity the only way he's going is if he gets to go see "The Bean" (Nate's nickname for Kaity is "Bean" because she always wears a bean shaped necklace). Kaity agreed because she wanted to go see it too.

Nate and Kaity dropped Perkins off at camp Friday afternoon and hit the road. That night in Chicago, they went to get Lou Malnati's for dinner, the same place they had their first date at.

The two woke up early Saturday morning and got ready for the day. The two were planning on going to see "The Bean" and go shopping on Michigan Ave. before her parents got down there.

Nate was all dressed in nice clothes, the clothes he was going to wear to dinner that night. Kaity mentioned that to Nate asking why he was wearing such nice clothes to go shopping, and he simply said "It's more efficient and I don't have to change later". This made sense to Kaity because this is something Nate's been known to do plenty of times before.

Kaity put on her new outfit she bought a couple weeks prior to the trip and kept asking Nate all morning if she should do lashes and wings or just keep it simple (she chose her wings and lashes, of course).

Nate mentioned that he would like to be there by 10am and that he made reservations. Kaity questioned why he would make reservations for a public park and ultimately thought he scheduled an audio tour for them by mistake.

They set off on a 20 minute walk from their hotel to Millennium Park. They entered the park and "The Bean" was much larger than the two thought. They approached it on the side and Nate told Kaity to stand in front of it he wants to take her picture. Kaity then returned the favor and took some pictures of Nate.

Nate suggested going up to it and taking a photo of themselves in the reflection of "The Bean". Kaity went to take some pictures and Nate got down on a knee. Kaity turned slowly as she thought he was just tying his shoe. He pulled out a ring and said, "Bean, will you marry me?" Kaity was speechless and just accepted with tears and a long hug.

Nate stood up and asked "So is that a yes?" Kaity, through tears nodded her head and put the ring on. Nate then said to Kaity to look to her left, he has a surprise. Kaity looked to her right, which Nate laughed and replied, "No, your other left". There Nate had planned for his long time friend who is also a photographer to take pictures of the two pre-proposal and some engagement photos after.

Nate and Kaity live in Waukesha with their two "sons", Captain and Perkins.
