Our Wedding

In September 2020, Derek and I matched on Bumble and met at Pies &amp; Pints in October. We often reminisce on our first date as I almost ran Derek over in the parking lot and texted him You up? after the date (TRUST ME, THERE IS A STORY BEHIND THIS!!). Derek forgave me and we had our second date, but days later I had to text him to tell him I had COVID. I definitely thought This guy is never going to talk to me again. Derek continued to forgive me. We continued talking and hanging out as months went on. Throughout those months, I broke multiple wine glasses, a projector and burned the bottom of a brand-new stainless pot, but yet again, Derek forgave me! Needless to say, I am one lucky girl. In May 2021, Derek invited me to join him and his family on vacation in the Outer Banks. This is where and when Derek and I said I love you for the first time. In April 2022, Derek and I moved in together and in June 2023, we adopted our dog, Pita. She has brought us so much joy and sometimes a little stress, but seeing how great of a dog Dad that Derek is, I cannot wait to see him as a father to our future children. In July 2024, Derek, Pita and I went to the Outer Banks with Dereks family. This place had already meant so much to Derek and I and little did I know it would mean even more. On July 17th, Derek surprised me by taking me on a sailboat at sunset. While on the sailboat, Derek got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

Her Story 

During the wonderful time of COVID it was hard to get out to meet people. It was especially hard because I had just moved to Cincinnati with zero friends or people that I knew. That's when I decided to go online and try to meet someone. That's where I first met Kalee. After texting back and forth we decided to go on the first date where she almost ran me over in the parking lot. I wasn't sure it was her at first until I saw her walk into Pies and Pints. Even though I was taking a risk by catching COVID and apparently my life, it was very easy going and relaxing talking with Kalee in person.The next date to Top Golf is where I started to really like her not because of her golf swing, but because she was totally down to pregame in the parking lot before going in. We proceeded to see each other more. The next step was meeting each others parents. The first time I met Bill and Julie; Kalee left me high and dry by myself with only a quick introduction. It was very easy talking with them as well. Kalee comes by it honestly. When our parents got together for the first time that's when I knew things could really work out long term. It was almost like we had all known each other for a long time. Our first vacation together was at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. That was the first time that we had said we loved each other. We continued for a couple of years building a relationship with each other when we decided to move in together. Eventually, we adopted Pita. That was an interesting time to say the least. However, I think Pita grew us to a new level in our relationship. The following year we went back to the Outer Banks for vacation. That's when I asked her to marry me while on a sailboat in the Sound. Thankfully she said yes! The dolphins even showed up for the cause. The Outer Banks will now and forever be a special place in our hearts and life. If you have made it this far, thank you. Kalee and I cannot wait to see you all on April 24, 2026 incase you forgot already. Cheers!

Hotel rooms have been blocked at the Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg. This hotel is where Derek and Kalee will be staying. The block of hotel rooms is for Thursday (4/23), Friday- WEDDING DAY (4/24) and Saturday (4/25). Please feel free to stay as many days/nights as you would like. The discounted rate and block for the hotel rooms will end on March 23, 2026. <a href="https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1752844741551&amp;key=GRP&amp;app=resvlink" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Book your group rate for Royster-Blackwell Wedding</a> Transportation from Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg to Stone Valley Meadows for the wedding and back to the hotel after the wedding will be provided. The the transportation service will begin at 3:30 pm at Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg and continue transportation between the hotel and venue until 5:00 pm. The transportation will resume at 9:00pm until 1:00am to take guests from the wedding reception back to the hotel.

There are no hotel rooms blocked here, but this is another option for lodging. This hotel is right across the street from the Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg. Transportation will be provided from the Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg, so if guests stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Dayton South, they can walk over to Residence Inn Dayton Miamisburg to catch the transportation.
