It was February of 2017; Clint and a group of his close friends decided to drive to San Diego, California, for a friend's concert. On that same weekend, Kaleen and her friend decided to take a spontaneous drive to San Diego.

On Sunday, February 12th 2017 Kaleen and her friend were getting ready to drive back to Arizona but decided to walk down the boardwalk one more time. After about two minutes of walking, they came upon a group of guys playing some football and spike ball on the beach. Clint caught a glimpse of Kaleen and decided to run right up to her and say, "Hi, I'm Clint!" After an introduction, the two realized they lived about 25 minutes away from each other in Arizona.

The two, alongside their friends, went to sushi and then caravanned back to Arizona. Clint had gotten Kaleen's phone number, and the two followed each other on Instagram. Unfortunately, this encounter did not lead to anything; it was not their time, yet! The two remained friends on social media, occasionally seeing glimpses into one another's lives.

Fast forward 4 years, February 2021, the two reconnected on Hinge. She liked his photo, and shortly after, he messaged her and said, "Remember when we met on the beach in San Diego?" The two then planned to pick up where they left off and have their first date at a sushi restaurant. Clint made it official with Kaleen on July 2nd, 2021!

The couple returned to San Diego on February 9th, 2024 where Clint asked Kaleen to marry him.
