Our Wedding

We first met in 2017 after both swiping right on Tinder. After a good first date, we went our separate ways but stayed in touch on social media and stayed interested in each other over the next 5 years. In late 2021 we both found ourselves simultaneously single and immediately got in touch via the social media connection we had maintained since that first date. Kaleigh visited Zach over her winter break from optometry school that year, and the rest is history. As they say, when you know you know.  After graduating the following spring, Kaleigh and Winnie moved in with Zach and Petunia in Heyworth. A year and a half later they bought a house together and moved their little family to Springfield for Kaleigh to begin her new career at Prairie Eye Center in town (also Binx moved in and made us party of 5).  On June 15, 2024, Zach surprised the heck out of Kaleigh with a proposal in front of all of her family and friends at her favorite place - their home. Kaleigh thought her answer was so obvious that she forgot to say yes at first. But it was definitely yes! And that brings us to this website. We are so excited to celebrate with all of our favorite people! Welcome to the party 😎

The Illinois State Fairgrounds Route 66 Experience is an educational exhibit open 365 days a year inside Gate 2 on the corner of Route 66 & Sangamon Avenue. The Experience, a self-guided tour, highlights businesses in 92 communities along Route 66 in Illinois beginning in Chicago and ending at the Chain of Rocks Bridge in Madison, Illinois. Vintage billboards, a drive-in movie theatre, Legends Neon Sign Park and tribute to muffler men along Illinois Route 66 make up a large part of the Experience. The desire to educate youth, bring back the road trip, and promote Illinois Route 66 communities was the driving force behind this project. The Illinois State Fairgrounds Route 66 Experience was led by the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway in coordination with Visit Springfield, Ace Sign Company, Illinois Department of Agriculture and Enjoy Illinois. Funding was provided by two DCEO tourism grants. The Route 66 Centennial will be celebrated nationwide in 2026. The Ace Sign Co. Team imagined, designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed each element of the Route 66 Experience, including all authentic glass neon crafted in-house at our Springfield manufacturing facility just off Route 66. The Experience is open 365 days a year from dusk to dawn and is FREE of charge, however, donations are greatly appreciated!
