about an hour and a half away from bozeman! good stop to say you've experienced it. definitely a good stop for the wildlife and "historical" national park feel!
about 3 1/2 hours south of bozeman - a BEAUTIFUL stop if you have the extra time for it! make sure you come prepared if you plan to hike --- bear spray, backpacks, water/snacks, sunscreen, etc.
about 4 1/2 hours south of bozeman - a good stop if you're thinking about the tetons! great downtown scene, awesome rodeo grounds that hold events pretty often, the "Cowboy Bar" if you're looking for dancing & good country music. definitely a fun stop!
about 5 hours northwest of bozeman. an absolutely INCREDIBLE visit that you'll never regret! our recommendations are to enter the park on the west side (this is near the town of Kalispell, which has lots of options for lodging and things to do!)
make sure if you plan to go, you get a park reservation ASAP! they do a sign up 120 days out. we would recommend doing this as spots fill up. if you don't get in, you can jump into the "lottery pool" 24 hours before you plan to go (no guarantees with with), and this should be on their website!
you can also enter the park with no park reservation before 6:00am or after 2:30pm!
again -- if you plan to hike the park, come prepared with bear spray, backpacks with snacks/water, etc!
about an hour southwest of bozeman. a great place to go for hiking, fishing, golfing, and a cool downtown scene. a beautiful place to explore if you have extra time!!
