Kaley and Cody’s story began in 2012 in Durango, Colorado at Fort Lewis College. They both worked as student employees at the Student Life Center, where Kaley was Cody’s boss (still is). Their work relationship developed into a friendship that was bound to evolve into something more.

They quickly connected through their mutual passion for live music. He shared his love for reggae and she shared her love for EDM. Countless shows later, live music is still one of their favorite activities to enjoy together. They are also pretty lucky being so close to the greatest concert venue of all-time, Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Although Kaley grew up in the beautiful San Luis Valley in Colorado, she never climbed a single mountain. It took an Iowa boy with the strategic climbing philosophy of “I’m pretty sure we can just walk up there” to help her discover the magic of the mountains. Since then, they’ve climbed over 45 peaks above 12,000 feet together. The picture above was taken in 2014 on the summit of their very first 14er, Redcloud Peak.

After they graduated from Fort Lewis College, they took the leap into the next step of their careers - graduate school in Dayton, Ohio. This was a challenging time for both of them but they grew as individuals and even stronger as a team. After two years of getting ‘learnt’ at the University of Dayton, and Cody having the opportunity to play many Cryztal Grid shows, they longed for the mountains and made their way back to Colorado.

Kaley happily went fully remote with her work and Cody has successfully gone full-time with his music career. They’re currently living at Kaley’s family ranch in southern Colorado, with the added flexibility to travel and spend quality time in Iowa.

Words cannot describe how excited they are to take on this next adventure called marriage, and they feel incredibly blessed to be supported and celebrated by an amazing circle of family and friends.
