In March of 2019, Kali and Kyle met for the first time at a dinner party with mutual friends. Love at first sight? Unfortunately not. In true introverted style, they barely spoke one word to each other the entire night and departed for the evening with neither one of them having the faintest idea that years from that night, they would be planning the rest of their lives together.

In March of 2020, nearly one year exactly to the date of their introduction, Kali and Kyle showed up to the same race: The Hampton Half Marathon. They bumped into each other briefly in the starting corral and, recognizing each other, struck up a short conversation while they were waiting for the starting gun. Love at second sight? Well, they took notice of each other here but then covid shut the world down weeks later! Kali shot out ahead of Kyle at the start of the race and was not to be seen again. Yet again they left the race none the wiser to how fate was drawing them together for a reason.

In September of 2020, Kyle was running with the Shamrocks Running Club at Burlington High School when Kali showed up too! Kyle shot his shot and decided to compliment Kali’s stylish running get up. Little did he know, this was a hit. Kali takes pride and love in her outfits and was happy to have it noticed. They continued running and chatting at practice each week, but both wondered if this could lead to something more.

It would seem that things took flight that autumn, but as happens in this cruel world, love would have to wait again. Due to Kyle’s snowboarding injury early that winter, they wouldn’t see each other again until the brink of summer.

FINALLY, that spring, Kyle got Kali and a group of friends together for a hiking day. They had a wonderful time hiking at what is now their favorite hike in the Northeast, Mount Chocorua and afterwards enjoyed some Flatbreads Pizza (also their fave). Kyle asked Kali to hang out again, but this time just the two of them (and with less bugs). The next day, June 13, 2021 became their official first date. Dinner at Bow Market in Somerville followed by the beautiful view of Boston from Alex’s Place in Medford. After that first date, Kali and Kyle were inseparable. Both being teachers, there was plenty of time for the first of many summer breaks together filled with beach trips, travel, visits with family, chill pizza nights together and so much more.

On June 13, 2023, Kyle proposed to Kali by recreating their first date and surprising her with both their families for dinner.

So much has happened from our first date until now! We’ve explored national parks like Zion, Olympic, and the Grand Canyon and most recently traveled to Buckingham Palace and the Scottish Highlands. We moved into our first apartment and love to dote on our beautiful dog, Cooper. We’ve run many races together from 5ks to ultramarathons, both qualified for the Boston Marathon and supported each other through it all. We look forward to more laughs, more love, more travel and the rest of our lives with one another!

We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding with all of you on June 13, 2025!!
